Garden of Life RAW Organic Perfect Food Juiced Greens Powder, 30 Servings

There's no denying that the ingredients themselves are good nutrition and will make for good health. Like others have posted, there is definitely an effect that can be felt not long after eating this supplement. Using a full scoop in a drink, it gives me a feeling of freshness, extra available energy (not like caffeine), a kind of brighter feeling. It doesn't seem to have any effect on bowel movements, but I already eat healthily and have done cleanses in the past, so if your diet/health is poor, you may experience a cleansing effect. Many have panned the taste, but I like it. I haven't yet tried it in water alone, so maybe that would not be very good. So far I've used it separately in one cup of orange juice (w/ and w/o cranberry juice concentrate), V8 Fusion (Strawberry Banana), and Amy & Brian Natural Coconut Juice with Pulp, 17.5 - Ounce Tins (Pack of 12) . It's merely acceptable tasting in the coconut water; but in the OJ and V8 fusion, I actually like the taste! The tomatoey taste does remind one of V8, and gives it a refreshing feel. It is not sweetened, so one shouldn't expect a dessert flavor. But in no way do I find it horrible tasting or unpalatable as others have. It tastes like blended vegetables, which is what it is. In OJ, it's actually fun to drink! The price is on the high side, but when one considers the cost of organic vegetables, it's not too outlandish. Compared to Garden of Life Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein, 622 Grams , this is much easier to drink (no chalky consistency or blandness). I'm definitely happy with the purchase!

I would normally never write a review after having a supplement only a day but this stuff is really great. I got this because eating right has become a challenge since I am taking care of my senior father and make things to suit his tastes and that just isn't healthy. I figured some of this 2-3 times a day would take care of the missing veggies and I could cut back on eating the unhealthy foods. I figured results would be something seen long term. I was surprised. I had a tablespoon in the afternoon then one before bed. I felt a big change in my mind/brain by that night. It felt like my brain had been suffocating and suddenly could breath again. I've had problems with memory and I was suddenly having vivid memories of long forgotten things and remembering things I'd normally forget to do. Only thing was my brain was trying to make up for lost time so found it a bit hard to get to sleep so may avoid taking any right before bed again, but it's not like a drug that sets the mind racing it was more like "Oh I can think clearly now, so much to think about" So there really is no other way to describe this than awesome. I've got more energy and more alert and feeling more ambitious and up beat too. I've tried lots of supplements and never have felt so dramatically better so fast or at all really though things have been effective. Oh yes taste: it basically tastes just like spinach so tastes just fine plain to me, taking a spoonful and swishing it around with water in my mouth.(though normally not advised by companies of powdered supplements due to choking hazard). Of course if you drink a lot of smoothies then mixing it would be great. Ps I figure about 1 tablespoon is roughly equal to 1 cup of veggies. Exactly how much a veggy shrinks once dehydrated and powdered varies but it often works out to around 1 tablespoon per cup of whole. For those with less difference it's made up for in the powdered juices as that's even more concentrated and basically just minus the fiber so it may really equal more than a cup per tablespoon. There's nothing like eating healthy but even when you are it would be hard to eat a pound and half or more of veggies a day but I can easily take 3 tablespoons. Price wise it is also cheaper than buying 30 pounds of veggies(some of them exotic). So my plan is just 3 tablespoons per day most of the time so should last about a month as a scoop(suggested serving) measured out to be 3 flat tablespoons.

So far so good. I am on day 2 of using this product. I currently mix a half scoop of this with a half scoop of Amazing Grass Berry Flavor...don't let the name fool you, both of these products taste aweful...but what do you expect? This is a very fine green powder that smells kind of like fishy greens. The taste is pretty bad but I used to juice and was able to put back some bad looking and tasting things for the sake of health and this is no different. Yesterday when I arrived home late I immediately made my dinner. A half scoop or Raw Meal chocolate and a half scoop of Shakeology with a banana, almond milk, berries and sometimes even a yogurt. This time I mixed in a half scoop of this product and the one I mentioned above. It definitely changed the flavor a lot. It mixed OK in my blender but the flavor was definitely ruined. Tolerable, but bad. I rated this product an initial 4**** because I took my second serving this morning, half in my shake and half in a different veggie drink similar to nakid's version. I FEEL GREAT! I don't feel like I have a crazy amount of energy but I do feel like I have a bit more maybe. I did get a bit gassy today but it isn't a pungent type so I think what you eat will play a role in odor more than this stuff. It is made with pre and pro biotics people...it is supposed to make you more regular and part of that is that when you start you should expect to poop and fart more. A lot of people rate this 1* because of flavor. Let me ask you the last time you tasted a food that was delicious AND healthy? Now try to imagine what it would be like to actually eat all of the raw material that is pretty dried and ground for you... You will never get this much into you without juicing which is expensive to do at nearly $14 per meal if all organic at a store instead of farmers market. So far its working, I can overcome the flavor. I think that peanut butter may be able to mask it but I don't like peanut butter too much so I will try to find ideas. In the mean time I know it makes me feel a difference within 24 hours so I will open my mouth and drink fast until I can figure out how to mask it a bit better while staying healthy.

Finally a quality product with quality results! And finally, a raw, organic green superfood powder that has absolutely NO sweeteners (not even Stevia)! To me, this is a Godsend. I can't tell you how difficult it is to find healthy products WITHOUT Stevia these days. As much as I may like to use Stevia as a sugar replacement, I'd rather that companies trust me to do my own sweetening especially when I tend to use these powders in smoothies or drinks that are already naturally sweetened by the fruit itself. Plus, I don't care care how things taste as long as I know it's doing my body awesome. (And doing my body awesome, it truly is.) Taste is unimportant in the grand scheme of things, especially when there are plenty of ways to sweeten things myself. Not to say this does not taste good. To me, it tastes like how concentrated superfood greens should taste, so TY Garden of Life for making this product that has already given me a stellar experience in just a few servings. I tend to like waiting a while to write reviews on things like this to get a comprehensive experience but just with my first drink I felt my brain fog lift, my heart felt like it was pumping more efficiently and my gut felt/feels great. The only con, is that when you open the product it is only one-third full. It seems a waste of plastic to have such a huge container for such little settled product. Pricey. I thought about docking a star for this but I'm feeling grateful to GOL. P.S. Wheat grass has no gluten.

Okay I didn't expect it to taste good. I expected it to taste nasty actually. It didn't taste nasty, it just tasted rather bland. Mix it with the right fruits (strawberries help) and some almond or soy milk and it can be tasty. I definitely notice higher energy levels. I've been sick less and yet sleeping less (I'm in Grad school and working on a publication). Though I'm not an expert in nutritional suppliments this seems to be high quality. I would buy from this company again but perhaps vary the product just so as not to get tired of drinking it. I also think cycling any nutritional supplement probably helps prevent the whole "too much of a good thing" syndrome. For an organic supplement the price was very fair. I trust the brand too. Be a smart consumer. Make sure the products you consume don't harm the environment. While I'm not strictly a vegetarian I also think the world would be better off if people ate less meat. I'll eat meat so long as I know the animals are treated right but mass production factory farming is NOT cool. Animals are sentient beings and we should not be creating living hell for them. Okay, sorry for the preaching but I just want to make people think about how we are responsible for our actions, including what we consume.

I bought this instead after getting sucked into watching that really long ad/presentation for Energize Greens that sells for $67. At well less than half the price, this stuff is AMAZING! Even my husband, who does not do any health food/supplement 'stuff' loves it. I really like the concept of getting the most concentrated of the most concentrated of the ingredients-if you've ever had a shot of wheatgrass juice, you know how much it takes just to make an ounce, and it's the dehydrated super concentrated juice of these ingredients that make the product. In terms of taste, I pour a little bit of orange juice into a glass, add the powder, stir until blended, then continue adding the OJ until full and stir again so it doesn't stick to the bottom and you don't make a mess trying to quickly stir something into an already full glass. The stuff looks like sludge, but that's what eyelids are for. If you don't see it, it tastes just like regular orange juice (I pound it down all at once, and I just imagine all of the energy from the sun going right into my body). I only get a very slight vegetable aftertaste at the very end. It's not all thick and gloppy, and that's what I was afraid of; it blends very well. And I'm back already ordering more because I wasn't prepared that my husband would be so into it. I didn't have any stomach issues with a full scoop. So, if you're one of those people who came away from that Energize Greens ad looking for reviews (which don't exist) or trying to find it cheaper on Amazon, look no further. This is the stuff you want, definitely.

I like that this greens powder has a good variety of organic greens and seems like a convenient way to add more nutrients to my daily routine. It mixes fairly well, but the taste is very strong and grassy, which makes it difficult for me to drink on its own. I usually have to mix it into a smoothie or juice to make it more enjoyable. Overall, the ingredients are good, but for the price and taste, I’m not sure I would purchase it again.

I keep repurchasing this product.
