I applied it with a roller but would caution against using anything but the best top quality roller as the mixture is very hard to spread and a cheap roller that comes apart would be a disaster with this product. Must be applied very quickly as it sets and skins in about 30 minutes. I got about 70% of the coverage expected, but with a little experience or practice 1.5 gallons should cover about 500 square feet for applications similar to mine. This is based on application to a rough concrete surface early in the morning with an ambient temperature of about 90 degrees. Six months on and the pond, fish, and plants are all doing great. Extremely slippery once cured, so use extreme caution moving over the surface when wet or submerged. Review: easy to apply sealed fountain - We had a fountain with tile on the sides and cement in the bottom. Couldn't find the leak. The white sealer applied easily. Just follow instructions and it worked great. We ordered more based on reviews and the product went on just the way the directions stated. We now have extra product.
