Not for Kiln-Firing
This pen flows smoothly and easily makes your design on painted porcelain. You can bake it to make it permanent. However, on unfinished pottery, it disappears after kiln-firing. I'll have to keep looking!

Excellent product
I have used these pens for a number of years. One pen is 4 years old and the ink still flows well. I use these pens to personalize ceramic plates and mugs. I do let the recipients know that I don't advise they use the gifts on a daily basis, that the ink may show signs of fading if used daily.

Color stable, Dishwasher safe, Fun kids crafting solution!
I ordered these markers for a holiday craft project. My daughter's had heard about making Sharpie Mugs. I did some research and discovered that the Sharpie markers do not hold their color. We bought and tried both regular sharpies and the oil based sharpie markers and the colors became muted or completely changed. (As would be expected - that isn't their recommended use.) We did a dishwasher test with our trial mug and even with 10 runs both the regular and oil-based sharpie stayed on the mug intact. The biggest problem for us was color stability. Which led us to these markers. On one of the websites when I was researching for this project, someone had recommended these markers instead. I ordered a pack and we did a test run. We followed instructions on the package fully. Decorated mug, let cure after decorating for 3 days and then placed in oven. Colors stayed stable. We tested it with 10 runs through the dishwasher and so far no changes to the test mug.Another big plus in our house hold is how easily spills can be cleaned up. We ordered both the markers and paint. My younger kids who are a little messier have spilled some of the paint. If cleaned up right away. It is water based and has cleaned up completely from spills to my table, tiles (even grout on the floor), and kids clothing. One drawback is these colors don't have opaquers on them, they will only show up on white or very light colored materials. That has not been a problem for us.This is a great product so far. The kids have had fun working on the Christmas presents already this year because they were so excited to start the project. My big question mark for the product is - How many dishwasher washes will we get? So far our test cup has been great through 10. If we notice any changes I will post an addendum to my review.Pros - little to no color change, so far no loss with washing in dishwasher, fun and easy for my elementary school kids to use, easy to clean-upCons - can't find in craft stores - requires planning ahead and ordering, need to plan to draw your design on white or lighter colored mugs if you want it to be seen.

Difficult to access ink
It was difficult to get the ink into the poly nib (after much shaking). When the ink finally flowed, it splashed. Eventually I removed the nib and used a cheapo little brush to paint the glass. Once on the glass, and after baking, color was bright & strong.

Great for toddler-made gifts!
We used this so my 18 month old could draw on mugs/bowls to give as xmas gifts for family. She scribbled on 7 or 8 mugs and bowls over the course of a week or two, exhausting our single black marker, and we baked them per instructions. As others have mentioned, the pen did take some coaxing to get the ink running again after we had left it for a few days (capped, of course,) but since our project was toddler scribbles, the initial blobbing of the ink once it finally got going didn't affect anything negatively. If I were to use the pen myself, I would probably want to get most of my drawing done in the first session. The mugs came out surprisingly well, sort of a clean, modern look, and the grandmothers in particular loved them. I kept one and have put it in the dishwasher numerous times over the past five months with no noticeable effect. We may revisit this project when her scribbles become a little more developed.UPDATE: Well, it is nearly Christmas season again, and I have put my toddler scribble mug through the dishwasher a whole heck load of times, and there has been no fading that I can notice. We may make another set this year!UPDATE #2: As of February 2017, the mug is finally starting to show some signs of wear--some of the lines have small parts where they have look like they've been scratched off--I'm guessing from rubbing against the prongs of the dishwasher. (I have not been treating the mug with tender loving care, I admit.) The fruit bowl, which gets hand-washed much less frequently, is still in pristine condition. I considered demoting my rating to 4 stars, but I'm not sure it is fair to expect a mug decorated with baked-on paint pen to perfectly survive over 2 years of tossing it unceremoniously into the dishwasher.

Great for those who love to personalize ceramics, but are terrible with brushes.
The colors are a nice combo of rich and vibrant (not flat or cheap looking). The items I've painted have held up well so far, but I also haven't put them up to vicious, daily use.The line created by the fine tipped pens are approx. 1-2mm thick (depends on how hard you press). The bullet tipped markers create a much thicker line, about 3-5mm thick.Be sure to allow the product to dry for a full three days before baking for the best hold, then place in a cold oven and allow it to heat up slowly as the oven preheats (as per instructions). Also, pretreat surface with rubbing alcohol and allow to dry fully before painting. As far as the actual painting, you have to pump the pen a few times in order to get the paint flowing. You will need to repeat this every few strokes, so if you don't want pooled paint on your object, be sure to have a folded piece of scratch paper handy. Sometimes I have trouble with consistent flow from the fine tipped markers, so I pump paint from a bullet tip marker onto my paper, then dip the fine tipped marker in it (like a brush... I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it works for me).

Excellent on Ceramics
In stark contrast to oil-based Sharpies this is the product that WILL last on ceramics!! And they are cheaper that Sharpies. Definitely recommend

Brilliant and easy to use
Excellent pen. Used to personalise mugs for Christmas by my 7 year old during lockdown. After being baked in oven for half hour, pen was permenant on mugs and are showing no signs of wearing after multiple washes

Not good value
You spend more time shaking and pumping to get the paint through, than you do drawing. They do not last very long either. As an extensive user of Porcelaine 150 I am disappointed in this particular product I would like to change this to one star. I will NOT be buying these again. Hardly used this Brown one and it is empty. Even taking the felt nib out there is no paint inside the container.
