Great Product!
It works great! I have tried it on my charcoal and grahite drawings both. It does not leave any residue and protects the drawings from accidentall smudging. To properly apply, make sure you do it in an open area with no wind (the smell is potent and bad to breath). Keep the can upright and about a foot any from the work. Spray in a constant sweeping motion from top to the bottom and upper right corner to the lower left corner (if youbare right-handed). Let it drybfor about 30 minutes. Repeat one mire time. You are done. Some buyers had complained about the cap being too tight and that they broke the spray head trying to remove the cap. The trick is to push the can by two fingers firmly, and pull up. Do not try to push the cap to the side. You will break the spam head!

Krylon Workable Fixatif K01306: 5-Star Shield for Your Artwork!
As an artist who cherishes my creations, protecting them from smudging and fading is crucial. And that's where Krylon Workable Fixatif K01306 comes in as a true game-changer! Here's why I rate it 5 stars:A Flawless Finish: This fixative dries to a clear, matte finish that enhances the natural beauty of my drawings and pastels without any unwanted shine. It doesn't alter the colors or textures, ensuring my artwork stays true to its original form.Smudge-Free Bliss: Gone are the days of worrying about accidentally smearing my charcoal sketches or pastel landscapes. This fixative creates a protective barrier that locks in pigments, letting me handle and display my artwork with confidence.Reworkable Magic: Unlike traditional fixatives, the "workable" part is no gimmick. I can easily lift or erase through the fixative to rework areas without damaging the paper or underlying colors. This flexibility is invaluable for refining my creations!Archival Quality: Knowing my artwork is protected against harmful UV rays and yellowing over time brings immense peace of mind. This fixative's archival quality ensures my pieces will stay vibrant for years to come.Easy Application: The spray can format makes application a breeze. It dispenses evenly and dries quickly, minimizing the risk of drips or runs. Plus, the low odor formula is perfect for indoor use.Overall: Whether you're a seasoned artist or just starting out, Krylon Workable Fixatif K01306 is a must-have in your art arsenal. It offers exceptional protection, remarkable reworkability, and long-lasting results, all at an affordable price. Highly recommended!Bonus Tip: For even better results, apply thin, light coats from a good distance and allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next.I hope this review reflects my genuine enthusiasm for this fantastic product!

LOVE this stuff! YES, you can continue to work on your art!
This was a great find for me. And it does just what it says. It stops the mediums from bleeding and smearing, and still allows you to work on your art. You can even still access watercolors below it if you work at it, in case you discover something you'd like to change later. I will never be without this product on hand. It does everything it says it will. And the odor isn't bad at all...I kind of like the fragrance! *shrug* While I wouldn't go as far as to spray my watercolors or sketches indoors, I do spray them outside, wave them around a bit, then bring in my art to dry without an odor problem. More than 5 stars!!

Works well, smells awful
This is your old fashioned, brain-killing, high-VOC fixatif. Don't use it indoors in a living area, even with ventilation. In the past couple of decades, spray paints have really cut down on the VOC (volatile organic compounds) content, but this stuff apparently missed the boat. The smell lingers for hours, which I suppose depends on temperature and humidity.Regardless of the smell, it works very well to protect delicate drawings from smudging. A light coat is enough. A light coat doesn't distort or change the texture of the papers I'm using. Medium-weight sketch paper wrinkles a bit, but smooths out again when it dries. Bristol and mixed-media paper don't distort at all. I think it's difficult to erase through if you need to rework. It's possible, but not without distressing the paper a bit.Like just about every kind of spray paint, this is easiest to apply with finesse if you use one of the handles that are sold for these cans.Only time will tell if it truly does help to prevent UV yellowing and oxidation. I haven't been using it long enough, and besides, here in the coastal PNW the UV index doesn't get above -1 for more than four months a year.I'll buy it again, at least until I find a less stinky alternative.

Worked great!
I made a birthday card for a friend and it was my first time using oil pastels so I was really nervous about putting it in an envelope, or even touching it in general lol. I smudged up a card I made with pencil not too long ago and all the time I spent making each individual hair went right down the drain and I was so sad. So I was looking for something to seal my cards with so they didn't get messed up.I have only put one coat on so far but it made the colors in my card really pop! I can see and feel the seal on it so I have no doubt once I add another coat it will be well protected. I had no problem getting even coverage, there were no drips, and it dried very quickly. The only thing that kind sucked was it's winter and really cold outside so I had to spray it inside and it's no different than using spray paint, the smell is quite strong so if you can use it outside or in a well ventilated area that would be best.I looked at several other sealants and chose this one because of the price, I was not disappointed. It should last me a really long time. I really haven't done much art since high school over 20 years ago, so I'm just a casual "artist" and my opinion probably isn't worth much, but I was very happy with my purchase. I look forward to sealing more cards and creations with it!!

Great for pencil art and leaves no tint
I use this over all my art works since I usually use pencils and my sketchbook smudges. It doesn’t give the page a shine or icky feeling after spraying which I like because so many others do. Sometimes I have to add 2 layers in drawings with lots of pencil everywhere which is expected. It covers my 12x12 sketchbook well and it doesn’t leave any tint on the page (it could as it ages but I haven’t had issues so far). Its not messy at all, its pretty direct to where you want it to go.The only issue I have is the smell. I know there will be one with these types of things but it lingers. I try to spray it in the garage or open a window, just so the chemical smell isn’t in my bedroom. It dissipates in about 15 minutes for me.Overall I really like it and I recommend this to every artist I know!

One of a kind..I think!
Only thing that does this specific job that I, or any of my 'arty' friends have ever found. Allows layers of media to be used, fixing as you go, then adding more. Perfect.

Faulty product
Faulty can. More fixative dripped out of it than sprayed. Yes followed the usage instructions and cleared the nozzle. Poorly made product.
User
Does what it says on the tin, will buy again!
Great product - useful for multimedia artwork, preserving under layer drawing, mark-making etc before applying wet media etc. Arrived on time. thanks.
User
Does not work!!
if i could give a red warning star i would. i used half a can on a pastel painting with no affect, i couldnt add any more layers no matter how much spray i used, how long i left to dry etc etc. i started with small amounts and gradually increased, NOTHING WORKED!! Really dissapointed with this expensive product, will never buy again a hope no one else does either!
