Numark iDJ Live DJ Controller for iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch (30-pin)

I purchased this piece of kit expecting it to be a great item for parties but boy was i wrong. The idea itself is good and the the features the device has works great. Its has a lightweight and sturdy design and the jog wheels are convincingly responsive. But there is cripling design flaws that ruin what coould have been a fantastic piece of kit. First of all the device itself is powered from your i-pod battery and also when this machine is plugged into ur ipod there is no way to charge your i-pod.So if your having a house party say and your ipod runs out after an hour of mixing, uv got to wait in silence till you charge your ipod up again so u cn plug in the device again.Second there is only low and treble knobs onn the mixer and no mid,so if u do want to change mid you have to mess about with the dial on your ipod/ipad.thirdly there isnt even a pitch slider, i find the absence of this rediculous. You would expect at the very least it would have this, there is the option to pitch bend with 2 buttons, but it just means that if you want to manually align the beats you have to mess about with the screen again to alter the pitch slider on the scree and then use the pitch bend. I find these problems completely destroy any experience mixing.Whats the point in having the controller if your messing around with the screen all the time.The controller is basically a limited extension of the screen controls.It doesnt add any features.You would be better off just buying a long splitter lead for the sound and not buying this controller altogether. Lastly the picture on the page gives u the impression that there is a built on bracket for an ipad but it is just a seperate piece of plastic board that flods in 2 places.There is no facility for holding an ipod either. To some this thing up its a huge dissapointment i would advise punters to go elsewhere, this thing is a waste of time.Go and by virtual dj for ur laptop and an 80 quid controller for it.This numark controller is just a half arsed designed toy that allows you to mix for 45 mins before all action stops cos the batterys dead.This shouldn be retailing for more than 25 quid.

As the title says it's very good however the only problem with this is that you can't charge the ipad whilst you're using the decks, it could be sorted out if either Numark or Apple offered a splitter if that would be possible. apart from that it's a very good set of decks for beginner dj's or even experienced ones who want something simple and easy to use. Already recommended to a friend.

Careful, this is for the old iPad/ phone jacks. Not the new smaller style of pin. Shame!

Terrible. Waste of money. Only compatible with old iPhones or iPads. Got it for my son’s birthday & he is unable to use it. He is very disappointed & I am out of pocket!

Works amazingly well with the iPad, response time is excellent and if you're looking to get into casual djing then this is perfect for any beginner. Came a day late but hey I'm not complaining.

My 12 year old daughter loves these and uses it with her water speakers. The only negative is that it is the old style iPhone/ipad adapter .
