As good as, but a little different than, a Best Foods.
I’ve been hearing about this mayo got years and finally decided to try it. It’s excellent, just like my favorite Best Foods, but it has a slightly different flavor and a certain creaminess that that differs from the other major brand. Very good with tuna! Great with potato salad and such mixtures as well. This was a good buy!

Dukes mayo or no mayo at all
Duke's mayo is a taste of home (southern US). Now available in my area so no need to buy online. Quality is miles above other brands, IMO.

Disappointing
All I've ever heard from southern people is how great Dukes Mayo is. That they wouldn't use anything but Dukes. I was raised on Best Foods/Hellmans mayo. I found the tastes and quality ot be that of that cheap off-brand you get in stores. I didn't find it terrible just lackluster. I see other reviews about the Dukes in these containers are not the same as the Dukes they are used to. But the seller is Dukes... So I'm wondering what is up and I also read comments on oily. glossy rancid. So I'm just curious is this the same as you would by at the Winn-Dixie. Piggly Wiggly...? For now I'm sticking with Hellmans/Best Foods. I Know the same argument can be applied to Coke/Pepsi fans. My relatives in Iowa are raised on Coke and don't like Pepsi, whereas, I was raised on Pepsi and don't care forthe taste of Coke. So go figure.

Unique mayo flavor - you must try this
Mayo is one of those condiments that can make a quick sandwich really enjoyable. It doesn't matter if you spread just a tiny bit, it's flavor will come thru. For many years, I loved Hellmann's mayo for its unique flavor. Duke's also comes with a unique flavor PLUS has such creaminess, it really is the best-tasting mayo I've tried so far. I've been buying the 4-packs for 2 years now. This product is not available in any of my local supermarkets and it's one of the few subscriptions I have on Amazon...every 5 months I get 4 bottles of this premium product from the SOUTH!

The best of the mayo brands!
I don't usually name names, but Duke's is better than Hellman's or Blue Plate and 'way better than Kraft. So much so, that when I moved across country and could no longer get Duke's at the supermarket, I ordered it from Amazon. I guess it's a matter of what you're willing to pay for; the locally available brands would suffice but just would not be as good as Duke's. Since I like to cook and like to eat, why not live it up a little and enjoy your favorite brands? Don't even get started on mustard! (I order that, too.)

My favorite US made mayonaise
I had heard of Duke's Mayo but never tried it until a discount supermarket where I live (San Francisco) put a case or two on the shelves. As others have noted, it is more tangy than other mayos, and I would put it between US and Japanese mayo (e.g. Kewpie) as far as tangy and smoothness go. Check the ingredients. Duke's is made with egg yolks, while most US mayos use whole eggs. Having made a few batches of home made mayo, I don't find that egg whites add any flavor, but they do produce a less smooth mayo. Sadly, that supermarket hasn't had any Dukes on the shelf for the past 5-6 months, and I have less than half of an18 oz bottle of Dukes left.
F**!
Avoid the squeeze bottles and go straight for the jars, mayo friends!
I have tried pretty much every mayo on the market and also make my own (great-grandmothers recipe) for her famous potato salad. Everyone who eats the family potato salad declares it the best potato salad that they have ever eaten. So I like to consider myself a bit of a mayo expert in a long line of mayo experts :) Dukes Mayonnaise is hands down the best commercially produced mayo I have ever had. With none of that weird plasticky jarred mayo flavor that seems to be standard with most brands. Despite the fame of my family recipe for home made mayo, it doesn't store well. So for a quick tomato sandwich or other mayo emergency, I always reach for Dukes. The reason I am only giving it a 4 star rating is because of these squeeze bottles. I thought they would be great, so subscribed for regular deliveries only to discover that Dukes, being the luscious creamy heart stopper that it is, does not come out of the bottles easily. It takes a great deal of shaking once it is half full or less, and still it doesn't squeeze out. I have cancelled my subscription and am now paying much more for jars instead, because I haven't been able to find Dukes in the stores near me. Although really, for cost saving purposes, I should buy these squeeze bottles and transfer it into a jar. I do wish that Dukes would release an organic version in a glass jar. A girl can dream, can't she? If they did that, I would bathe in the stuff!!!

Fits in the refrigerator door easily
Love Dukes Mayo and this squirt container. Store it cap down in your refrigerator door. You do t have everyone putting their knife in the Mayo jar several times. This squirt container keeps all the germs from what is on your knife out of the Mayo. I’ll never not have squirt bottles!! The hole is a little larger than other squirt bottles, so once you realize that, you can easily control it. This doesn’t mean I won’t have jars of Dukes Mayo for when I make salads, but sandwiches it’ll always be he squirt bottle!!
