Review: Very useful piece of kit, and very well made - Having recently adopted an adult german shepherd/husky cross, that has a preferred walking speed somewhat faster than I can walk even at my fastest, I figured that at some point I am going to have to end up running (not keen on that idea) with our dog. I bought this hands-free running dog lead/belt in readiness for that day, with the intention of using it whilst walking now to get her ready for the fateful day that my lycra goes on. Whilst, I have been using it for that readiness preparation (including the odd little bit of running in usual dog-walking attire), I’ve also found another use for it. We regularly walk through fields of livestock, usually sheep, but also cattle, pigs and horses. Particularly in the winter months, some of those routes are very muddy and/or icy, so there is the risk that one of these days I may go head over heels and drop the usual lead, something I don’t want to do when in such close proximity to sheep. The solution – before entering a slippery field containing livestock, I attach this running lead to the dog’s collar, so that even if I were to slip, she won’t end up running loose (more likely she’ll be standing over me as I lay in the mud, wondering what her daft human is doing now). I leave the normal lead attached when doing this, so that I can use that to guide her if necessary, but the running lead has helped her so much with walking at heel that it’s rarely necessary. I am very impressed with the manufacture quality of this lead/belt. The bungee is firmer than I had expected, but ideal for our current use. The construction is such that even after having tried shutting my car door multiple times with the lead hanging from my belt (the dog’s already in the back of the car by this time) and hence getting it in the way of the closing door many times, it shows no sign of damage. Our dog is 29-30kg, and this lead copes admirably. I’ve been so impressed that I have already gone on to buy the Barkswell seat belt as well, to replace ones that were recommended on desertcart but that simply do not compare. The pouch that is attached to the belt is a bonus, that I use for carrying poo bags and rewards for use during training. Very highly recommend.
Review: Sturdy, well-made and thoughtfully designed. - I bought this as a means to train both of my Hungarian Vizsla boys to walk to heel. The D ring on each side means that I can attach one dog on each side of my waist, and then use one hand each to correct their pulling with gentle little flicks. Also leaves my hands free to squeeze liver paste out of a tube as a treat for getting it right. 3 days in to the new training regime and the boys are walking nicely with fewer reminders, and I am swearing less, have no shoulder pain and my lower back doesn't ache after each walk. Having your dog attached to your was it gives you extra grounding if he decides to pull, and this belt is more than strong enough to deal with both of my dogs pulling at the same time (a combined weight of over 50 kilos!) The lead has a good bungee element, which knocks some of the oomph out of any pulling, and the pouch is the perfect size for a roll of poo bags and loads of lovely treats. Cleverly, the pouch has two separate sections which means you can have dog stuff in one part and still have room for phone, wallet and keys in the other, without having to fish biscuit crumbs out of your phone charger socket each time... Obviously designed by a dog owner, with all of the right attention to detail. It's early days yet, but this does seem to be a robust piece of kit, well-made and cleverly designed and a bargain for the price, considering some of the other products on the market. I have a much bigger canicross belt, but the lead works perfectly with that too for attaching my second dog. All round, I am delighted with it.

**Q: Is this suitable for walking a small dog?  I have a Jack Russell/parson Russell cross who is only about 13 inches at the shoulder.**
A: If your dog walks nicely on the lead, then it's fine.  I have a labradoodle who is no bigger than a toy poodle and it's ok for her but if she's pulling it is a bit awkward because the stretchy' part of the lead is quite stiff and not very much give in it.  It's really better for someone running with a medium sized dog or walking with a steady dog whose not inclined to pull.  I would suggest contacting the merchant - they're a new company who are keen to help customers to get the best out of their products.

**Q: How big does the belt go?**
A: It can extend quite a bit,
I haven't extended to full potential but I having it at around 30inches and it has at least another 15-20 inches of spare potential

**Q: Would this lead fit a larger mobile phone? 5.7"? Thanks**
A: I think it would be a stretch, but it might fit. I've just measured mine and the inside is 13cm long, but you can get 14cm if you pull it tight. It is about 8cm wide. The material has a bit of give in it. My iPhone 5 fits inside just fine,vwith quite a bit of okay to the sides if anyone else is reading this and needs to know! There is a second zipped compartment for your keys etc too.

**Q: would this be appropriate for me to use to walk my dogs whilst on my mobility scooter?**
A: I would say no, however, there is a gentleman near where I live who has a mobility scooter and he has many dogs with him but the leads look more robust and thicker material, possibly ask the company from were you are thinking of purchasing the lead
