It does not have a strong flavour, like paprika powder, but its flavour is warm and mellow. The heat is quite strange: it doesn't send you rushing for the cold tap, but putting a little on my tongue resulted in a fairly high but pleasant heat, which seemed to last on my tongue for ages! (like half an hour or more!)I have so far tried a little in a chillie con carne, (mixed with other hot chillies) and it improved both the flavour and the heat.
