I bought this case originally about 3 months ago and have recently ordered another the same case again to replace the original. I read the previous reviews and had mixed feelings about my initial order, but thought "$20 something bucks for a stylish case, why not?" After 3 months, the glue and stitching have started to come apart and the leather has started to pull away from the plastic backing. With all of this in consideration, I reordered the same case once again. Here is some food for thought:The previous reviews were correct in the styling. The pictures do the case justice. I received many compliments on my new case from both friends and strangers alike. I often wear jeans, and over time the leather has become burnished with the dye from my pants. I honestly like the burnishing along the edges as it adds character and a vintage feel that contrasts nicely with the modern styling of an iPhone. The pockets in the back are perfect for what I need. I keep my driver's license and 2 different credit cards (just in case) with my phone at all times. More often than not, I'll leave my wallet at home and just grab my handy cell with all the essentials with it.The bad part is as I said, after 3 months my case has fallen apart enough to the point where I needed a replacement. I don't think I abuse my phone or handle it any more than any other young adult glued to their phone. With normal wear and tear, I think 3 months is the average lifespan you'll get out of this product. The pockets are a little tight (good for keeping cards in) but a problem if you keep cash in there and slips a little too far down into the pocket to reach. Its worth mentioning I used to use one of the pockets for business cards, but they kept getting bent in my pocket.All-in-all though I still think it is a solid case for the price. I have purchased similar styled cases at retail stores for twice the cost with similar build quality. The design of the case is modern and stylish while staying very much functional. As long as you are okay with buying another case in several months (and really, after a while don't you want a little change), I would recommend this case.

Update 10/2016:I still love this case. I have now bought 4 of these total. The company seems to have fixed the left corner breaking issue as that has not happening to either of my previous two cases now, so great work, Kavaj! I am leaving the rating at a 4 because I think a 4 star rating will do the most good for both the company and any potential customer. Why? A 5 star rating never tells the whole story in my opinion. A 4 star rating at least allows me to tell everyone I LOVE the case but it also manages expectations for a potential customer. This case lasts longer and longer with each new case I've ordered...which means this company cares about it's product and is constantly improving. It looks amazing. It's not bulky. You will reorder. BUT it won't last as long as a straight plastic case...and I think that some potential customers would expect that. I don't. I love mine and I've sold 5 or 6 of my friends and family on them and they keep reordering as well. Fantastic work, Kavaj. If a 4.9 star rating were possible that's where I'd be.Original Review:I LOVE THIS CASE! I have now bought three...which is a testament to how much I love it but also the reason for 4 stars rather than 5. The top left corner is always the first part to break which sucks...but over time I have noticed a change in material and an improvement in lifespan. If they can figure out that blasted left upper corner they'll get a 5 stars. Having said that, that small problem won't keep me from re ordering. To be fair my last case lasted about 8 or 9 months with HEAVY use so it's not bad at all. Everything else about this case is amazing. I actually think I have 4 friends who now exclusively use this case because of me. Highly recommended...but lets fix that corner and maybe even increase the price when you do to reflect the better quality.

Finally! Something a bit different then the tons of gawdy plastic iPhone covers. I have a Kavaj case for my iPad air and I love it so much. I was hoping I would have the same luck with the 6+ case and so far I am not dissapointed.The leather is a bit distressed and it has a great classy look. The stitching is strong. The fit on the phone is perfect. The 6+ snaps into the case tightly, just the same as a well built molded plastic case.The edges raise above the iPhone screen just a bit so I can place my phone face down on a surface without fear of damage. Probably the best feature of this case is all the buttons, inputs and outputs are exposed so there is no restriction in sound and the power and volume buttons are excessable and work as sensitive as if I had no case on the phone at all.Surprisingly, this case is very slim and adds almost nothing as far as bulk to the phone. I keep my phone in my front pocket so a slim case is important to me. When I received my new 6+, the Kavaj cases were not out yet, so I bought the thinnest plastic case I could find on Amazon while I waited. The new Kavaj case appears to be no thicker. The card pockets on the back I probably will not use. They don’t add hardly any thickness to the case, but I would have prefered an option without the pockets if one had been presented to me. It also smells like leather (it’s the simple things in life that make me happy).I'm not sure how well this case would protect my phone from a 6 foot drop on concrete, and Im not about to find out. I know this is not a thick plastic lifeproof case, but it is perfect for my needs and I know it will protect my phone the way I use it and care for it.I have been a big fan of Kavaj for a while. Their customer service is top notch and they really stand behind their product.

I am reviewing the Kavaj Tokyo (Black) for the Apple iPhone 6 Plus. The case primarily covers the rear of the handset and gives partial coverage around the sides of the phone - the front of the phone is left completely exposed. Kavaj uses a combination of genuine leather in the exterior around a hard plastic shell. What you are left with is a case that looks gorgeous and should provide good protection for light bumps and scrapes.Sometimes leather cases can add quite a bit of bulk, so I was a bit hesitant in purchasing this case, but I didn't need to worry as you will hardly notice it is on. The case is very easy to install and fits brilliantly. It doesn't feel like it will slip out easily which is a plus. Every button and port on the phone is easily accessible, with enough room around the camera to not interfere with taking your pictures.Using the case makes me much more confident about handling the phone. The iPhone 6 Plus is a big phone and a slippery one at that, especially with that aluminium back. I felt I had to treat the phone with kid gloves in day-to-day use of the phone, especially when using the camera. However, the Kavaj case with its use of leather, provides a decent grip and makes using the phone a much more enjoyable experience.My only negative on the case is the back pockets, which are used to hold two credit cards. Personally, I have no use for them and I feel it detracts slightly from the design of the case. As the pockets are on the bottom of the case, it means that the handset will not sit flat on a table either. I would have preferred a completely flat leather back and would have given this case 5 stars on that basis, but I appreciate others may have use for the slots. Nach dem Kauf eines Ipad-Covers von KAVAJ habe ich mich entschlossen, diesmal für mein Iphone 6s plus dieses Ledercase -Tokyo- zu kaufen.Meine Rezension erfolgt nun etwa 10 Monate nach meinem ersten Kauf, doch dazu möchte ich später kommen.Schon die Verpackung ist etwas besonderes und ist gedacht gestaltet mit Beilagen und Gutscheinen. Das Case selbst fühlt sich in der Preisklasse bei vergleichbaren Produkten hochwertiger und dezenter an. Die Nähte sind ordentlich verarbeitet im Bereich der Visitentasche, die ich sehr praktisch finde! Sei es für einen Schein, Ticket, Karte und was auch immer. Vor allem lege ich mein Handy immer mit dem Display auf den Tisch und da wirkt die Rückseite schon sehr edel und dezent. Es ist auch ein wenig auffallend in der Hinsicht, dass die Visitentaschen zum Gesprächsthema werden, je nach dem was ich dort einstecke :) Ich finde die Öffnungen an den Kanten zu groß geraten und finde das Handy nicht wirklich geschützt.Nach ca. 6 Monaten hat sich das Leder so langsam vom Cover gelöst und paar Wochen später sah das auch nicht mehr ansehnlich aus. Dieses Problem war mir aber von den bevorigen Rezensionen bewusst, doch mir war ebenso bewusst, dass die Firma Kavaj für Ihre Werte steht. Ich hatte vor das Case zu reklamieren doch hatte es aus Faulheit etwas hinausgezögert als dann doch ein Mitarbeiter mich über die Zufriedenheit meiner bisherigen (4) Kavaj-Produkte angefragt hat. Ich habe Ihm das Problem mit dem lösenden Leder erzählt und nach Einsendung der Fotos habe ich äußerst schnell den Kaufpreis zurückerhalten und habe mir daraufhin ein weiteres bestellt, dass ich heute erhalten habe.In Sachen Design und Service bin ich sehr zufrieden, doch wie erwähnt, könnte der Seitenschutz durchaus besser sein.

I don't use it, so the profile edge of this leather pouch is raised 1 or 2 mm at the back of the phone case - which means that the phone 'rocks' when laid on a solid flat surface which is surprisingly annoying.Updated - after 6 months of use:Have had to replace with a different cover after 6 months as the top and bottom edge of the iPhone is not protected. I recently dropped my phone for the first time, it from a height of about 0.5m and it struck the ground with it's top edge. It is the top and bottom of the iPhone which is left exposed by this case.There is no issue about the quality of the cover as such and it is clear from the product imagery that the cover does expose the top and bottom edge of the phone so I do not make the claim that I have been misled. However, the reality of needing something more robust to protect my expensive device has dawned.Also, being leather the case proved unable to withstand the one drop (so far) in 6 months and the contact with the ground has shredded the leather off. The case has withstood general wear and tear well but the leather surface is scratched and pitted. The phone has mainly been in a pocket or laid flat on tables. It has been dropped once. I have knocked 1 star off my original review for this reason.

I have received this case a week ago, so I don't know how it will look like in a month from now. What I can say is that I looked at many different competitors and didn't know which one to choose... When you spend a relative amount of money on an iPhone you want the cover to make it look even more elegant, so I was ready to spend a reasonable amount of money in a good leather case. I was in doubt between the Sena Lugano, Mujii and the Kavaj case. The two others are more expensive, so I was thinking that the Kavaj wasn't going to be high quality. I was wrong: the case is sleek, the leather is beautiful and the pockets add no bulk at all. I knew that most of the time the pockets would be empty so I didn't want them to get in the way... And when I add some cards they are really protected. If I need to say something negative about the case is that it doesn't reaaaaaally protect the front, just a little bit. And, now, analysing it in detail I see already some scratches in the leather, but for me it adds character. Overall, I'm really happy with this choice.

Arrived quickly and packaging was very good I love the design and finish this used to be by far my favourite case for my iPhone 6+.The case itself is a perfect fit, slick and extremely well made. The inside is a soft rubber which protects the phone, and the outside good quality leather. The two slots hold cards securely.The case doesn't add too much bulk to the iPhone 6+, and the leather makes the phone less prone to slipping out of your hands. Everyone who owns an iPhone knows how slippery they are.I used mine for about a month before i accidentally dropped my phone and my screen smashed. This is an excellent product if you don't care about protection and are only after something that will make your iPhone look aesthetically pleasing and slick. If you want proper protection look elsewhere this is not the product for you i paid over £100 to get my screen replaced. This offers no impact protection to the phone!!Other then that it is a lovely product with a nice feel. But i cannot recommend it based on my own experience i ended up switching to a different product and am happy to report my phone has survived several drops since.
