Serenity Float Out #1 One-Shot Chen Cvr Comic – January 1, 2010

It made me weepy like all these backstory zines. The Shepherds tale..I’m not sure Jayne, Inara or Kaylee’s backstory would have the same effect, maybe because they survived . We have a bit on Mal, River and Simon from the show...but I’d love it if they put them out.

...since we said goodbye to Wash at the cinema, I didn't realize I still missed him--or the rest of Serenity 's crew. As a continuation of the Firefly saga, this story doesn't disappoint, stays true to the tone & characters that seized my dreams since the first trailers for the TV series. Also, this was my first graphic story on a Kindle. Zooming in & out of page segments was a pleasure; I applaud the work of the person who did the framing, kept each shot a balanced composition. (sigh) And I finished it so fast --aiee!

I was a bit disappointed by this, but it was mostly because of my own ignorance of what it was. I was expecting a compilation graphic novel like with the first two Serenity comics. This is a single comic (which I should have realized was what "one-shot" meant.That is easily overlooked, but the story is a bit on the weak side. As the cover indicates, it's about Wash. Not to spoil anything, but the rest of the Serenity crew hardly figure into it at all. On top of that, some times in the comic the art doesn't match what is being narrated which makes for some small confusion. Nothing to wreck the story, but enough for a "Huh? Oh."So, an average comic. Don't spend too much on it.

A fun read, the drawing leaves a little too be desired. Worth the time and money if you were a Wash fan.

How can anything Firefly/Serenity related be bad? Seriously though, great story, great artwork.

I think this Comic can be overlooked compared to the other comics. It's really, really short. As far as "insight" into Wash's life.... it gives very little. Nice little warm ending at the end but otherwise, I could've lived reading this in the comic store instead of buying it. Not as good as the other Comics, but does belong in a collection for the Firefly flan in you!

This issue delves deeper into wash's past and throws us a curveball at the end. I highly recommend it if you're a firefly fan.
