L M N O P and All the Letters A to Z

I love this book it's so imaginative. There is also wall cards and a music cd that can be purchased to go along with this. Plus Mr.Schrager's coming out with a manual of how to teach the alphabet with stories that match the illustrations. I wish it was out already so I could use it. But as is, it's a lovely alphabet book with simple alliteration verses. Highly recommend!

We bought this for a 4-1/2 year old who is very interested in the letters of the alphabet. On the left side of the book there is a poem for the letter and on the right side there is an illustration which contains the letter within the artwork. For example, the letter "B" contains a poem with a big bellied bear followed by an illustration of the bear surrounded by the letter B. The poems are fun to read and the illustrations are nicely done. At the end of the book is 4-page section with Teaching Tools for the adult teaching the alphabet. This section contains suggestions on how to use the book to help children learn the alphabet and read. I found the Teaching Tool ideas valuable, so we will be incorporating them as we learn the alphabet. I recommend this book, especially if you are looking into alternative ways to introduce the alphabet to the child(ren) in your life.

I bought this to help with my daughter's formal introduction to the Alphabet, in anticipation of her starting a fairly structured and typical Kindergarten. I am so glad I did. The poems are a beautiful way to help children become acquainted with letters in a way that gives immediate meaning, rather than being just the abstract forms we recognize them to be. Her favorite was the "L" poem, but she quickly learned all of them, and I know it was nice for her to be able to draw on this memory when the letters were then introduced in school. It is a nice antidote to the typical trace-and-memorize books for learning letters. The illustrations are calm, warm, and lovely.

My little boy Loves this book. He wants to read it before bed every night as well as several times a day. Some of the verses are a bit of a stretch or make little sense, most are are lovely. I love that they don't hold back on unusual words. Update, he's 3 and it is still a favorite I my rough and tumble, construction and car loving boy

wonderful art. great verses. a lovely way to go oveer the ABC's with your kids. all the "hidden" things inside each picture. plus if you don't know what something is, there is a list in the back.

I adore books, I really do. Beautifully written and illustrated books will steal my heart every time. This book falls right in to that category. There is a little poem and a full page illustration on each page. My favorite books have a little whimsical flair to them and this one is no exception. It is read again and again here and I think it has helped with letter recognition.

The author went out of his way to send me a new version of his book 3 YEARS after I received an incomplete version. I am so pleased with this book and look forward to buying Mr Schrager's works in the future. I highly recommend his work!

Both my girls (ages 3 and 5) just love this book. The poems for the letters are fun and really give you room to play around with them. The artwork is just incredibly beautiful. We all recommend it!

アメリカのシュタイナー学校の先生が作ったアルファベットの本です。 シュタイナーの芸術教育は本当にすばらしいといつも思いますが、 家庭で取り入れるのは難しいと思い、ただの憧れとなっています。 家庭で英語に親しんでいるため、情報収集も兼ねてよく、 アメリカのアマゾンのサイトをチェックしています。 偶然、この本を知り、高評価だったことと表紙の絵に惹かれて、迷わず購入しました。 開いた印象がとにかく美しいです。 絵も文章も。 ちなみに表紙の絵は「O」のページのものです。 しっかりとした光沢のある紙質で、 左に文章、右に絵が描かれています。 文字は絵と一体となっており、絵を通して物語が伝わります。 それぞれの文字に適した詩が添えてありますが、 初心者にはちょっと文章が難しいかもしれません。 しかし、リズムが良く、美しい文章で書かれていること、 言葉遊び的な内容もあり、短いながら奥の深い文章となっているため、 辞書を引きながらでも読む価値はあります。 小1の娘に読んでみましたが、 「リズムの良い文章だね」と言う程度で内容はあまり理解していません。 でも、いつかこの文章がわかる日が来ることを楽しみにしています。 きっとそのときはこの内容、言葉遣いに感動すると思います。 絵は表紙の通りどれもシュタイナー色満載で、飾っておきたいくらいです。 そのうち、もう1冊購入し、バラバラにしてしまうのはもったいない気もしますが、 額に入れて、娘の部屋に飾ろうかなと思っています。 これはアルファベットの本ですが、シュタイナーの芸術教育に関心のある方なら、 ブロッククレヨンや色鉛筆を使用した描き方の勉強のためでも参考になる1冊だと思います。 誰にでもおすすめする1冊ではないかもしれませんが、 シュタイナー教育に関心のある方なら必ず気に入ると思います。
