Color X-Change Semi-Permanent Hair Color, MOOD OF BLUE

The photos show the dye (mood of blue only applied on the bottom ends of my hair, pravana violet on the upper) as it fades naturally one week at a time. First photo is the day of, second photo is one week after, third photo is 2 weeks after. It doesn't last as long as Pravana. I previously have used direct dye Pravana Violet which turns more reddish purple on my light-brown bleached hair, but I wanted to make my hair or at least the bottom part of my hair less red and more blue tinted violet. I was able to easily achieve that with this Mood Of Blue color. However, it was a lot more of a greenish-blue on my hair, so I did have to actually mix half and half. Half of Pravana Violet, with half of this Mood of Blue, and it gave a nice rich violet/indigo color. Though it turned more blue than purple after washing it out, so that is something to look out for. I am still satisfied since it matches with one of my favorite dresses. But I will try next time to mix in more Pravana Violet, maybe 2/3 or 3/4. Really, my only wish is that it lasted longer. Normally I'm told that blue colors are supposed to stay longer on hair than reds, yet the more reddish purple stays on my hair much longer. Might be maybe Pravana is just more high quality? I don't know, but if you don't mind the shorter time to fade, or like me it's an easy-to-reach location you're dying, it's fine.

Perfect for a semi permanent hair dye. We dyed the tips I’d my daughter’s light brown hair bright blue - didn’t bleach first - and it showed up great and looked so cute. Faded nicely to a light turquoise color and then washed out in a few weeks. Fun to add a pop of crazy color for kids. So easy to use because of the squirt bottle. Use gloves, cover all surfaces that you don’t want to turn blue, and rinse it out well after applying generously and letting sit for about 20 minutes. One note: our dog got a hold of the bottle and punctured it and got it all over a dark gray ottoman. We quickly cleaned it with warm water and dish soap and it came out. But a few little blue splatters remain on the white painted bathroom cabinet. So be careful!

First I want to say that I was covering gray hair. If one bleaches hair it might last longer. The product did turn my gray a strong bold blue. Looks just like the bottle after first wash. Faded quicker than another product I previously used. I used shampoo for colored hair without sulfates. Not adverse to it being Much lighter and less dramatic in color and expected some fade. Just surprised that having leaving it on my hair 3 times longer than directions, the color faded quickly. I would say if one orders this product, go for a bit more color than you want and if it does not fade as quickly as you can tolerate, wash it several times in a row and that should do it. Rather than going for a more gentle color and hoping that color will last a while. Maybe my hair is different than some. I have fine hair.

Did ABSOLUTELY nothing to my hair but dyed my scalp and left embarrassing splotches in areas 😡 been dying my own hair for almost 20 years and have never had an experience like this. Never again will I use this brand. Even following the directions the color won’t stay no matter how much of this dye you put in it. I have dirty blonde hair and it didn’t take BLUE hair color? 😒 don’t buy it, find another brand.

I refuse to bleach to my hair! It's far too damaging and unhealthy. But I do enjoy having fun colors, especially blue which is my favorite. I sometimes use Ion Permanent Brights in Tanzanite and/or Sapphire, or their semi-permanent Sky Blue. They work great but I decided to give this brand a try because it's a little cheaper... and wow! The color payout is vibrant and fun! I get compliments on it all the time. All I do is work out from my roots to about half way down the length, taking the time to do it in small sections. Then I wrap my hair (which is actually shaved into a long mohawk) in a plastic bag, put on a heat-able shower cap (similar to a hot pack, you just toss the cap into the microwave for 2 minutes and it comes out nice and hot) and let the heat help my hair soak this stuff up. I let it set while I watch an episode of one of my favorite shows, then rinse in cold water before using a color-lock conditioner. The results are a bright true blue that looks great. My hair feels soft, healthy, and undamaged. As my hair has been growing out the past few months, it's now ombre-d blue into black without any bleaching, or money and time spent in a salon. So if you want fun colors without bleaching your hair first, you can use this on naturally dark, virgin hair. But, it doesn't work on hair that's already dyed a dark brown or black. And yes, it works on grey hair too. The secret is using heat after applying, and cold water when washing and rinsing your hair. I've already gone through 2 bottles and am about to order another in Mood of Blue and Ballistic Blue for even more of an ombre effect.

Super super pretty color! When I went to rise the dye out of my hair, no color bleeding at all! And it made my hair even softer like it was a conditioner or something! This is probably my.go to dye now! I also have white pillow cases and even freshly washed after dying, NO color drops or transfer! Seriously. Buy this dye! It's also vegan, has no smell at but has a slightly glittery tint. My only problem is it comes out darker than the bottle shows, but I did go over very faded orange so I'm sure if you were bleached and used it you'd get an amazing color payout!

I absolutely love this products and all the colors. my hair has been like this for 2 months. Hardly any fading and only done one touch up. I will never use any other color on my hair. It's not dry, it still feels healthy and it does not bleed when you wash your hair! it's awesome!! Easy to use and last so long! For bright color pre-lighten ur hair but it still shows up on non bleached hair as well put it on my redheaded daughter's hair it showed up just wasn't as bright and also put it on my niece's natural blonde hair and it was bright and is still in her hair. Would recommend to anyone who wants color in their hair!!

Easy to use but doesn't stick well on my blond hair. Ended up with a slightly blue tint to it but not vibrant as advertised
