I was using the API liquid test kits and could never find an exact match in color but new it was between 7.9 and 8.2. This meter confirmed it. Right out of the box it was .02 off from the 6.86 calibration solution which I thought was pretty good. I bought 7.01 and 10 Calibration liquid separate to test my meter to make sure that it is always dialed in as my tank should never be outside of those numbers. I plan on calibrating it every week as it only takes a minute and you really should calibrate these for better accuracy. I've read a few reviews saying that it jumps around a lot but in the instructions it says hold it in the liquid for a minute. It does change a lot within that minute but it will stable out for a good reading. I've even pulled it out cleaned it and retested numerous times and got the same reading. For the price this thing seems a much better solution for testing my tank for PH then color matching and guessing what color it really is. I would absolutely recommend this meter to anybody that is looking for a PH meter/tester. I will update this if anything changes with this meter but as of right now this is a must have for any saltwater/freshwater hobbyist. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great PH Meter! *by K***H on December 27, 2016* Started brewing my own Kombucha a few months ago and this was a recommendation from other brewers. I love it as it is easy to use and takes the guess work out of the PH of your brew. Including pictures of meter and also meter in use. The shot glasses contain water at 7.8 PH and the next is Kombucha at 3.5 PH. The 2-part liquid test kits are a pain, and the test strips aren't always accurate, so this saves a lot of time. The only drawback is no "hold" feature - as soon as you withdraw it from the water, it loses the reading. Reading it in-tank is difficult and would be easy to drop, so I use a cup.
