I have a Helinox chair one and had a Pico Chair. The Helinox is my go to lightest chair for Adventure Motorcycle Camping when weight is is a huge concern. It's not super comfortable, better than the ground but over priced. I used my Pico chair the most though as it was most comfortable but it was bulky and heavy. When my Pico chair broke and I needed a replacement, this Trekology chair was recommended by a friend. The price was right, weight looked good, it was less bulky and it's rated for 300lbs. I ordered it. So far I've only sat in the chair in my living room on carpet, but immediately can tell it's a very sturdy chair. I'm 6'5" tall and weight close to 290 lbs, so I'm pushing the limits of this chair. It still feels very sturdy and is tall enough that getting in and out of it is not a chore. The "Headrest" is a support cross member pole that's up towards the head area. Being a tall person, it's a bit of a lean for me to use it but adding my camp pillow it's just right. Yes, it's a top heavy lightweight chair. Either put a rock in the storage bag and attach the bag underneath the chair, or just plan on the chair tipping over when you're not sitting in it. Around the camp fire, I'll most likely just lay it down so it doesn't go into the fire (I already do this with my Helinox). Not only would would I recommend this chair to anyone, I'm also planning on getting a few more to have around. They're not much to store and could see using these for car camping also as they're also a very comfortable chair. Anyone wanna buy a gently used Helinox chair one. ;-)

Have been evaluating multiple portable (folding) chairs because as Boy Scout scoutmaster, need to inform scouts about portable chairs to use that can fit in backpacks or duffle bags. Loved this chair. Would probably recommend to scouts but at 50 bucks it is a pricey chair. 1. Small packing size - the poles easily collapse but don't separate (poles use the camp tent stretchy cord set up) so you can't lose a pole. Pack up is very small and can easily fit into duffle bag. 2. Lightweight - very lightweight, not heavy in the backpack or duffle. 3. Chair Height - I am 5'8 and didn't have a problem getting into or out of chair. While it is not full chair seat height, it wasn't back-breaking or knee-aching height either. So it was comfortable even though different from typical folding camping chair. 4. Bucket seat - the chair is designed to be a bucket style seat, without cramping your arms in when sitting. I am 185 pounds so I don't break the chair nor do I "fill out" the bucket. I can see though that a 200+ pound guy can be cramped in the chair (or may break it). 5. Carry Bag - has side hoops so it can clip to back pack. Nice touch. Also carry clips can be used to hang off chair so you can put stuff into it. 6. Set Up - very easy, took a few seconds. Was easy to slip on the fabric chair. A con of the chair though: the next generation chair should consider either putting some selective holes in the back of the fabric for many reasons. #1 it would help the sitter's back breathe a little. #2 when the wind comes the fabric weave is so tight that the chair blows over. Holes would allow the chair not to blow over as much.

I was torn between giving this chair three or four stars... I did actually like it, and it was reasonably comfortable (MUCH more comfortable than the shorter yellow version of this chair). I decided not to keep it because I liked a simple blue folding chair with a strap (also sold on Amazon) better. This one is pricey, and although it's not terribly hard to put together, it would still have been a little awkward to do that at my daughter's soccer games. The only other negative is that the sides feel strange, as there no where to put your arms. It's not wide enough to put your arms inside the fabric, but you can't exactly lean your arms against the fabric, either. I prefer a chair that has arm rests!

I ordered this portable camping chair for outdoor use. The package came with the bag and inside the bag includes the aluminum frame, aluminum head support and seat cover. What I like about it when I first saw it is the fabric material of the seat cover. It's very sturdy and vibrant color. Something that I don't see in a regular lawn chair sold in stores. Next thing is the assembly. if you're on the go, the last thing you want is the hassle of assembling furniture. This chair can easily be assembled in less than one minute by one person. The package comes with an instruction manual but you can easily assemble the chair without one. Just pop open the aluminum frame and stand it upright. Then put the seat cover on and attach the head support. Super easy. it's very comfortable to sit on and lightweight. The only issue I have for this chair is that it sometimes topples backward probably because it's light but for me it's not a deal breaker since its intended for sitting anyways. Really worth it for the price. Good fabric material, portable, easy to assemble and pack, and comfortable to sit on. Highly recommended for both outdoor and indoor use.

I only used the chair twice around the house so I could get a feel for setting it up and putting it away. It's very simple to set-up and it's a pretty comfortable chair. However after the second time, one of the legs(front right) started bending. I realized immediately when it happened because the chair started leaning to the right side. I really like the chair so I'm trying to see if I can get it exchange. The chair is rated for 300lbs and I weigh 235lbs so hopefully my weight wasn't a cause.

Update 4-12-17: I upgraded my rating from 2 to 4 stars (would be 4 1/2 if option was there) because the company stepped up and made it right even though significant time has past since the purchase, and it would be outside the normal return period. I would give them 5 stars for customer service, but I am leaving my original review for the product as there are a couple of really difficult design issues to overcome to make it the perfect chair 1. The plastic material would need to be stronger, 2. Ease of assembly could be improved. 3. The pressure the feet place on the ground would need to be reduced to prevent sinking, and 3. The stability when no one is in it would need to be improved. I suppose the last to issues could be addressed by the user by placing a rock or a bottle cap under each leg to prevent it from sinking, and a water bottle or rock can be placed int the bag suspended on the frame to improve stability. I am not sure the best way to address the first issue as it would likely require more material or a stronger material (carbon fiber?), which would either increase cost or weight. so there are trade offs. The difficult assembly is the other issue that would require a major trade-off, to improve that it would lose compactness or strength, as the tightness of the fit seems to be part of the structural support of the chair. Original Review: I have had it a while but have only used it a few times, It is a very comfortable chair, it requires some practice to learn how to set it up. biggest complaint is after about 6 uses it broke at the plastic socket where the legs come together, it was on flat grass surface with a person that weighs less than 250 lbs, so no where near the limit. I hope I can fix it somehow because I would like to continue to use the chair. The safe weight rating on these should be downgraded to less than 200 lbs, I bought this one because of the 300 lb rating, and I would have bought more if it would have held up longer. These chairs could also benefit from larger diameter feet, as unless you are on a concrete surface there is a potential to sink in to the ground. which I have never been anywhere where I needed this compact of a chair where the ground is not a little soft or uneven. However the failure happened on flat grass, that was a fairly even surface, much better than at the average camp site.

Returned it: I need the help of a very strong person to put it together, because you have to bend it metal rods slightly. I cannot bend them at all, but my friends husband could. But for this, the chair is very light, and quite comfy to sit into. I am 5f 3" woman and weight 120 pounds. Not a chair for a more substantial body. Not very stable on a lawn.

Purchased this chair in 2016 and used it for a canoeing trip in Canada with no issues. Took it back this year to Canada on another canoeing trip and it broke the first night. One of the places where the rods connect broke off and one of the plastic feet broke. It was usable the rest of the trip but I never quite trusted it. I know it is half the price of some of the name brand models but I hoped for more than 9 uses out of it. Will not purchase again.
