Horseware Rambo Micklem Competition Bridle

Wanted to change to the anatomical style bridle for our boys comfort. Have been delighted with this. Excellent quality, great fit and he seems very comfortable. He is 14.3 Welsh section d with a large head. Generally we use size full head collars, and his last bridle was full, but with this went for the cob and it fits him a treat with plenty of scope for loosening for his thick winter coat. Do watch the you tube video as if you’re not an expert this gives good tips regarding fitting, as iit does differ to a standard bridle. 100% best decision we made for him.

Admit I was a bit sceptical at first about the bridle but difference in my horse amazing. Light in hand and dressage marks improved (now no hollowing). Certainly worth a try.

Whilst it ain't cheap, it is exceptionally well made and fits beautifully.

I have always kept up to date with teeth back etc but have still found I get a real pig headed, fighting tantrum on my hands when my mare got excited. I absolutely love the Micklem bridle, my horse is much more willing to listen and rarely tantrums, even when over-excited. She is definitely more accepting of the contact when schooling too [she was previously ridden in a normal flash bridle for all disciplines and no other changes have been made to her tack set-up]. A fab investment in my opinion as it has clearly made a huge difference to her comfort and I wish I'd spent less time deliberating over buying it.I bought small horse / cob size for my 15.2hh fine headed ISH mare, fit is great in my opinion. It has loads of scope to be extended as it's on the small bit loops (pictures show the bigger ones being used on the bridle, I changed these the next day) and it's on the 2nd from top hole on the nose band/headpiece attachments. Tiny bit less room for manoeuvre on the "throatlatch" part but this is the broadest part of her face and is still done up to the 3rd hole.Sadly it doesn't come with reins as is actually advertised (bad Robinsons!!) but I was still pretty impressed with the price. Cheapest I've found it anywhere.2* to Robinson's for bad advertising, but 5* for the bridle itself and the price.The bridle I received was the competition bridle, which is what I wanted; not the multi as pictured.

This is a good design, but the sizing is quite small. I have a 15hh Welsh cob, with a large head so I ordered standard horse size (should fit 14.3 large head - 16.3 fine head) but the noseband and 'throatlatch' were too small. I now have a 'large horse' size and it fits around, but has to be adjusted up high on the cheek pieces.I feel it would be better if the bottom strap (noseband) and back strap (throatlatch) were longer as that would be better balanced' to the length of the cheek straps. The 'standard horse' size would then have fitted my fairly 'average' cob's head very nicely.

I bought this for my granddaughter who got a new small, young horse. This bridle was perfect, strong and very attractive. I highly recommend this bridle.

Das Micklem hat meine Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Meine Stute macht die Zunge nicht mehr so oft über das Gebiss und kaut wieder besser. Sie musste sich zwar erst an die neue Trense gewöhnen, aber es wird jetzt mit jedem Mal reiten besser. 5 Sterne :-).

I was happy with the quality of this bridle. Other reviewers complained about the leather being "stiff". You have to oil it, then it softens up nicely.
