Note: I am reviewing the version that includes the power adapter. This is the version that works with the widest variety of drives. I use these at home and at work when I need to access a SATA hard drive quickly for troubleshooting, repair, or just to access data on the drive. If you use this on a newer computer with USB 3 or Thunderbolt, it accesses the drive data very quickly. I like this version of the hard drive adapter because it is fast and works with all the SATA drives I've tried it with. (Some adapters only work with the 2.5" drives.) To me, this is easier to use than the toaster style drive adapters. I've used it to read/write data, format/partition drives, clone drives, and boot from drives and it's handle all of those functions well. Only thing I'm unsure about is if there is a limit for the drive size that you can access with this adapter. I don't think there is, but I can't remember if I've tried it with anything larger than 2TB.

I was in the market to buy this for my SSD hardrive to connect to my laptop for photo/video/file use.This product worked superb when it came to connecting, transfering, and downlaoding what you need especially since it has the extra power connected to it.My only issue came when the SSD could not be detected in my files, it took a while but I need to formatt in order for it to connect to the laptop. It took me an hour to figure out which was a little fustrating since it did not come with any specific way to connect make use of the thing. If you are having problems, I recommend searching up videos like "SSD not detected" on youtube, thats how I fixed my problem. Other than that, it worked flawlessly.The product is a bit pricey concidering other competetors, but becuase of that it allows to maintain stock compared to others on amazon which are sold out. The extra price is worth since the power connecter is included to enhance performance. Reasonable price. Device works as advertised. I used it on two 3.5" drives and a 2"; all were accessible.

Was skeptic if this would work for a hard drive from my burned and wet laptop from 13 years back. Turned out it worked great. Was able to access all the data and memories which I thought was lost. Worth it!

Best thing ever I have a 20 yr old hard drive with a ton of memories and files, it all brought back to life, I wish I would of known about this years ago so I wouldn’t had to haul around my old desktop computer to different moving location where I would reside because of my hard drive
