The last bit of information you need would be the length of the fastener and the type of head. So a common 1/4” SAE bolt that is 2” long would be described as 1/4”-20 X 2. **Q: One side is marked Whitworth and the other is marked Metrisch, but nothing points to which end is which.** A: One says "Metrisch" which is German for Metric.
