Q: What is the difference between these vandoren reeds (cr193) and the other vandoren reeds (cr103)? the price difference is around 33% more for these.

Not sure how to answer this. They were recommended by a friend who is a clarinet major. He thought they would work better for me than other reeds. They do play much easier and respond better than anything that I have used in 50+ years of playing the clarinet.

Q: Is 3 1/2+ the same as 3 1/2?

In my experience as a Music Education Major, 3 1/2 plus can range between 3 1/2 and a 4. I play on 3 1/2+ during the summer and 3 1/2 during the cooler season. I find that about half of them are closer to a 4 and half are closer to a 3 1/2. I save the harder reeds for summer and play the softer ones during the fall. I usually buy 3 1/2 when we are going into our colder months and then I buy 3 1/2+ when we are going into our hotter months. (I buy a box of 10 reeds a month)

Q: The picture shows a box of 2.5 reeds, but the description say 4.5-are they 4.5?

The box says 2.5 so that box is 2.5. The seller may have just used a picture he had on hand. I think if he says 4.5 he is selling the harder reeds.
