Informative and Heart Warming
As most Magic Treehouse stories, this one was a delight for my 6 year old grand daughter and me in equal measure. There is exciting action and much love for animals and nature. The historical and geographical information forms the background to present the values of caring and helping one another, across species.

Another Great Book by Mary Pope Osborne
Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Tree House book #46 Dogs in the Dead of Night is another great read for children. My children love the entire Magic Tree House series and always are very excited to read the newest book. In this book, Jack and Annie are on a mission to help Teddy and Kathleen, and are taken back in time to a very cold and avalanche prone Swiss Alps setting. They end up training a Saint Bernard Dog in a very unique way. This is the second in a series of 4 books to help save Penny the Penguin. Great fun to read out loud with emerging readers, I highly recommend this book.

Another great Magic Tree House book
We enjoyed reading about Jack and Annie's adventures with Barry, the St. Bernard in the Swiss Alps. This is our new favorite MTH book! Every one in our house loved it! Ages 7, 8, and the adults, too.We were recently at the St. Bernard Museum in Switzerland where we visited St. Bernard dogs and learned about them and the monks who trained them. They helped everyone from travelling pilgrims to Napoleon's army. The full story is worth researching!

Afraid of title but loved book
Third grade granddaughter was afraid to read Kindle book because it sounded scary. I read it and convinced her to read it on the Kindle with the female reading it to her. She loved it! Since we are training a Lab dog we especially liked the part where they trained a dog. That St. Bernard was full of energy and sounded just like ours. We liked when the kids became dogs also. What an imagination!

I have the entire collection of Magic Tree House books! My daughter loved them as a child, and I enjoyed reading them as well! I continue to buy them as new ones come out!

A Really Wonderful Reluctant Reader Book
If you know a child who does not enjoy reading, this book might be the page-turner that hooks them on reading. The story is simple, fast-paced, and interesting. It is historic fiction, telling the story of the hospice dogs who evolved into the Saint Bernard breed we know today. I also ordered the companion non-fiction book, Dog Heroes, from the same series, and recommend that they be read together.
