A light Christmas romance
Logan O’Donnell owned a successful insurance business that he started to be near his son Charlie in a small town in upstate New York. However, when his ex-wife’s husband was transferred Oklahoma, he only gets to see Charlie during the summer and holidays. Logan sold his insurance business and bought a ski resort in Avalon, a town on the shores of Willow Lake. Though Logan has had his share of dates since the divorce, he is not ready for a serious relationship.Darcy Fitzgerald is still reeling in the aftershock of her divorce from her unfaithful husband, Huntley Collins. She is not ready for involvement with another man, especially one with a child, but when her best friend India introduces her to her brother Logan, Darcy cannot deny she is attracted to him.The Fitzgerald’s and the Collins’ families go way back and they vacation and do holidays together. Darcy’s sister is married to her ex’s brother, and Darcy cannot bring herself to celebrating the holidays with her family since Huntley will be there. When India invites her to spend the holidays with her family, she accepts. Will their pasts drive Logan and Darcy apart, or can the romantic backdrop of the wintry ski resort and the spirit of creating a Christmas to remember for Charlie and his cousins allow them to drop their guard? This is a delightful read. Susan Wiggs is a master storyteller, and CANDLELIGHT CHRISTMAS is no exception. Her characters are very believable and the plot has enough detail to keep interest high without overwhelming the reader. It is a quick read, just right for the busy holidays. You can read more about Susan and her books on her website Susan Wiggs, her Goodreads author page, FaceBook author page, her blog The View from Here, or on Twitter.

Extended family issues
One of the Lakeshore Chronicles, I see that the author has finally helped Logan to become a nice guy after all. His behavior as a teen with Daisy wasn't that nice, though he showed redeeming features through his commitment to their son, Charlie, but in this story, he comes into his own.Meeting him through his sister is Darcy Fitzgerald, desperate to avoid a holiday with her family because her ex-, who cheated on her, still attends those gatherings. When she goes to Florida for Thanksgiving, Logan discovers she's a better athlete than he, has a more interesting job, and she challenges him in ways other women have not. But he has a child, and she's been badly burned by her ex- and his children. She vows never to get involved with another single father. A vow that is made to be broken by very cute 10-yr-old Charlie, who shares, with his father, a kind of cuteness that worms its way into Darcy's heart. What will happen at Christmas if Thanksgiving could be so right? Both of these adults have issues with their extended families, and getting this couple together also means getting the families together. What better place than on the shores of Willow Lake? The story ends with the same sparkle as the sun on the ice and snow.

Sweet contemporary romance
Darcy and Logan are both still recovering from the trauma and drama of their respective divorces. Darcy loves her difficult stepchildren though they have moved on without her. This pain has convinced Darcy that she will never fall in love with a man with children, again. Logan is recently divorced and is discouraged because he sees his son, Charlie, so much less than he anticipated. Can a woman who wants to protect her heart by never dating a man with children find happiness with a man who loves his son and wants to spend as much time as possible with him? "Candlelight Christmas" is another wonderful Susan Wings novel. Fall in lover over Christmas. Enjoy!!

An Easy Charming Read
I've read The Winter Lodge by Susan Wiggs and very much enjoyed it so when I came to searching for a Christmas book for the holidays I tried out this one. It's a classic Chick Lit book and somewhat predictable but still easy and fun to read. It's a great love story without being overly mushy and although it's the last in the lakeshore series and hints to previous books if you are familiar with them Susan was correct that each book can stand alone in its on right and doesn't necessarily depend on previous storylines. It's also great for the holidays because it's very homey and family-oriented.

Two Susan Books in a row
In three days I've read "starlight on willow lake" and this one. I'm not sure which is the better of the two because they were both exceptional. There was a valuable truth in this book that I've needed to hear for years following my long marriage and subsequent divorce. Thank you. I love the way these books are written as the writing flows so well and the personal stories are so fine tuned and filled with life's trials and tribulations!

This book broke my heart...
… And then put in all back together again. Perfectly. And Susan, should you ever read this, you are not Wiggs. You are Wicked! Logan and Darcy’s story is so empowering. So endearing. And so, so riveting. Lots of heartaches and lots of laughs. And lots of mouthwatering recipes! Did I mention wicked? It ticked all the boxes for me. As always, a winner.

Another Lakeshore Chronicles' Christmas!
Daisy Bellamy's ex-husband, Logan O'Donnell and his sister India's best friend, Darcy Fitzgerald, are at the center of Susan Wiggs' latest installment in the Lakeshore Chronicles. Returning to the fictional town of Avalon at Christmas, many familiar characters from the other Chronicle books make brief cameo appearances. Logan's son Charlie, now in the 5th grade, and a few of his friends, often take center stage in this novel. Although a romance is usually the catalyst in Susan Wiggs' books, in this episode, I would have preferred more sexy scenes and dialogue and fewer descriptions of events. Despite that, I hope Susan Wiggs gives us an 11th book in the Lakshore Chronicles.

delightful
4.5 whilst mildly predictable, this is an enchanting installment as the two protagonists Darcy Fitzgerald, a young woman named by her Janeite professorial parents, and Logan O'DOnnell, once an all too hormonal and entitled teenager, who then all too young fathered Charlie with Daisy Bellamy and now both divorced, both with familial and relationship issues, both of course ?!? good looking and talented, meet mildly unpredictably, slowly change the course of their lives and head towards a HEA or happy beginning in the environs of Avalon, the resort town in the Catskills that is the setting for Ms Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicles. Each delicately tests the waters and each helps the other to change the course of their lives. Susan Wiggs writes beautifully, and these contemporary fairy tales do deal with real issues, with children coping with divorce and step families, separations and other issues, with Logan slowly managing a better relationship with his father and vice versa, with Darcy slowly unfreezing her heart. Yes there are moments it is all too good to be true, but realities do intruded too; and what this reader hopes for from Ms Wiggs is even more of the Lakeshore Chronicles - this is the 10th of 11 so far published - and an updated family tree, and how these intertwined families and big net work of friends develop. Enjoy.

A lovely story wish I had read it before Christmas!
The author, Susan Wiggs combined all the elements necessary to make a lovely story. I really enjoyed reading it. The characters were very cleverly brought into the story, the children were a great element for after all Christmas is for the children be they small or adult size! The romance was just right and I just loved the recipes I will be trying out a few of them if not all!

Good Book
This is a good book for a simple read, it updates you on some of the families from previous Lakeshore Chronicles, but, I didn't find it as consuming as the previous books. It seemed to be over before it had really got going. I would still recommend it as a good read, as it was a good read, just not as good as the others in the series.

A good series
I thoroughly enjoy ed this book as I did the others in the series, I read them all in about 2 months. The stories are well interwoven and interesting. It is not what I'd call stellar fiction but a good, quick and entertaining read.

I loved catching up with Logan and Charlie!
I have thoroughly enjoyed all the previous Lakeside Chronicles, so have really enjoyed catching up with Logan and his son, Charlie. It tied up quite a few ends. I hope there will be some more in this series.
