The kit includes a cowl vent for exterior use, a louvre grille for inside, a 350mm length of pipe duct and an optional anti-draught baffle. This baffle reduces the airflow and also the feel of a draught through the vent. The external cowl minimises uncomfortable draughts, reduces noise and light from outside the property and acts as a barrier against wind driven rain whilst providing a free area of 100cm² and is available in both brown and terracotta. The Louvre fits on the internal wall and, similarly to the cowl, reduces draughts, noise and light penetration, while providing a free area of 100cm², it is only available in white. Will it allow draught into the room?** A: As others have said, there is an internal baffle to reduce draughts, but my vents are located behind furniture and this greatly reduces draughts. I also installed fine mesh gauze on the outside to stop bugs crawling up the vent, this also reduces draughts. I installed mine to reduce condensation behind furniture which comes with a completely draught free house after installing good quality double glazing **Q: Could this be used to vent a 5" portable air conditioner exhaust?** A: Hi, I don't think so. It is designed to mount in the ceiling and therefore draws air upwards. There is a a baffle plate which prevents backdraught.
