Men's 608 V5

I wear only New Balance Extra Wide shoes. The explanation is neither mysterious nor flattering: I carry more weight than I ought to, and my feet insist on reminding me. These provide the width I need along with an arch that actually supports rather than merely decorates the insole. In a marketplace increasingly devoted to fashion masquerading as function, that is no small achievement. I generally buy the 608 V5 cross trainers because they consistently have the best availability in Extra Wide. That alone earns them a place near the top of my shopping list. They also come in enough colors to satisfy whatever mood strikes you. I've accumulated black, white, brown, blue, and now gunmetal. Evidently, when I find something that works, I become a predictable voter. The shoes are comfortable from the first day, supportive during long walks, and forgiving during those moments when the bathroom scale reminds me that arithmetic is undefeated. They have become my everyday footwear, accompanying me through errands, appointments, and the ordinary business of retirement. No product is without its legislative amendments. Occasionally the shoelaces seem unnecessarily thick or comically long, as though drafted by a committee unable to agree when to stop. It's hardly a constitutional crisis, but every so often I find myself wondering whether someone at New Balance has a side business selling extra lace. Because these are my primary shoes—and because I place a bit more stress on them than their designers probably envisioned—they're generally ready for retirement after about six months. I don't regard that as a defect so much as the inevitable consequence of constant use and a user who could stand to lose a few pounds. Institutions endure because they reliably perform their intended function. The same may be said of these shoes. They are not flashy, they make no extravagant promises, and they will not transform your life. They simply fit well, support properly, and perform their duty day after day. In an era of exaggerated marketing claims, there is something refreshingly conservative about a product that succeeds by quietly doing exactly what it was designed to do. Five stars.

I am extremely happy with these New Balance 608 V5 shoes. They are very comfortable right out of the box and provide excellent support for walking and standing all day. The fit is true to size, the quality is outstanding, and they look great with almost any outfit. The cushioning helps reduce foot fatigue, making them perfect for work, daily activities, or casual wear. I would definitely buy them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for comfortable and durable sneakers.

I really like these shoes. Color is perfect, they are nice and light, easy to put on, are versatile and clean classy looking, and not stiff at all. The 10.5 fit nicely on a medium wide foot, not too tight or loose, the price was perfect and look almost like the Nike 411 I have had for years. The shoes were delivered in 24 hrs... I broke them in on my treadmill for a couple of 2+miles of walking sessions at 3.5% grade, 3.1 mph- most comfortable. Then I took my daily walk outdoors on two separate days, and on a mostly flat asphalt surface, with few grades, completed the walk without any foot discomfort... I may consider another pair for just indoor walking and compare longevity of the soles, the insoles, and overall fit for the next six months...

These shoes are incredibly comfortable to walk in for any distances, and have become my go-to daily shoes. However, from a durability standpoint, the back heel’s fabric tends to breakdown within 6-9 months which exposes the harder material underneath (which can rub against the back heel and irritate the skin). Overall recommend, but something to keep in mind before buying.

Just received a pair this morniing. I have never really felt right about cross trainers. Anyway, I put them on and walked a mile outside. Still unsure, I decided to use the last upper eyelet as a trial, and the light went on. Suddenly the shoes felt a part of me, and I feel usure turning to love. Comfortable, stable. fit great. and now miles to go. Now, New Balance, please make more of the 840v1 walking shoes.

The New Balance Men's 608 V5 is a great all around, everyday shoe. Whether it's worn to work where standing all day is required, or to the gym to lift weights and do some cardio, the 608 V5 is the perfect shoe. I got lucky and found a deal on Prime Day that got me out the door spending less than $150.00 for three pair of shoes, two New Balance and one Skechers. They look great too and the sizing is on the money. I require at least a wide 2E and even 4E with certain styles, and New Balance always delivers.

These shoes are the answer for me. I have a 13.5 sized foot and the 14 fits near perfect. Nice, roomy footbox. The cushioning is perfect, not super spongy like those trendy thick padded shoes. The fall between heel and toe is minimal, which eliminates knee pain for walkers like me. 10 of 10. Maybe 11 of 10 since they are well under $100 and sometimes go on sale under $70!!!

Very comfortable and a good replacement for their previous model. Fit well and true to size.
