Be Happy: Just Add Water

Not all pages are watercolor and you can’t tell which is which! I tore three pages out for my mom, me and my sister to paint. My mom’s was a watercolor page and our other two were not. We kept trying and trying... the book mentions a key, but you can’t tell which is which. EDIT: I found the symbols in the inside margin of the pages, the part that stays in the book! Yay! I’m excited I found the key symbols!

Apparently some of the pages are for coloring only with pencils/pens/etc, and my copy doesn't tell me which page I can use water on!

I was very happy when I saw the book. I was expecting newsprint paper in the book, but the pages were about as thick as construction paper (but less rough). The description didn't mention that a paint brush would be included, but there's one tucked inside so I didn't have scrounge to find one in the house. My child is young and cannot draw along the lines so he just randomly paints on the page and the colors come out. I haven't looked at all the pages, but I believe each one has a saying, and they're all very positive. Kinda cheesy, but in this context I think it's a very nice touch. I will probably buy a few as Christmas presents for my child's friends.

This is such a wonderful tool for mindfulness or meditation. Because you only need water, it’s very easy to simply sit in peace. I am a therapist and I enjoy using it as much as the clients I see. The only downside is that not all of the pages are watercolor- some require markers or crayons, which seems a bit deceptive. That is why I gave it 4 stars.

None of the colors work!!!!!!!! We're putting water on them and they aren't working. What the heck yall. Don't buy. 😔 my kids are disappointed

Pretty book with nice pictures and a painting brush. Three starts due to too many pages had no embedded paint.

Caution!!! only about half of the pictures actually worked.

*Be aware some pages are for colored pencils...they have a key at the front...the raindrop is for watercolor, the pencil stub is for colored pencils or pens. I had a hard time finding said key on the pages...you have to bend the page in the seam & the key is on the bottom left, deep inside the seam!!*This book is really cute, affirmations too! Great for winding down, when you're listening to music or if you want to spark your creativity. I received it yesterday & painted 1 page. You will need to clean your brush b4 each section, so you won't drag colors to the unpainted area because it will muddy the color. Great during this pandemic!

I was excited to get this book and when it arrived I was pleased, until I used it. I like that the pages are perforated and the pictures and messages on the pages are lovely but when I attempted to paint over the picture the water collected (even though I used the smallest amount). I am surprised as I have many other similar books (that are less than half the price of this one but also less pages to be fair) that all work the same. I am disappointed as I will not be using this book as intended but rather just colour it in as I would usually a regular colouring book now. Due to the water not being absorbed as you brush over the drawing, it causes the paint to go over the lines and that is not ideal. I completed the picture and will post it here. The final picture looks okay but compared to others I have done using the same technique it just seems like it is either the paper or the actual pigments that are just not right. The colours also blend too easily into each other making a strange colour mix every now and again. The brush provided is definitely too big so I ended up using a thinner brush from another set and it still didn't help.I think it is a pity because the messages and pictures themselves are 5/5 but if I can't use it for the reason I bought the book then it is unfortunate.I am going to try again in a few days to paint another one and see if that is any better. I will 100% add to this review next week.

I read the reviews before buying this and many complain that the pages are defective as the watercolours don't come through. It's not defective, if you look at the front of the book there is a key, so some pages are to use with the wet brush (brush provided) and some are just for colouring in with your own pencils/pens. Each page shows a water blob or pencil next to the spine to identify which is which. The majority are water colouring so don't let this put you off. There's loads of images inside and a flap to stop water seeping through to the next page. This seemed the best of all the others and I'm really pleased i bought it. I'm looking forward to doing this mindful activity.

I love these products of just adding water I find it very relaxing. With this particular book the pictures were very beautiful however the paper quality is not there causing a lot of leaks even with very little water. I have attached a picture to compare with the previous review picture to get an average of what to expect. The other thing I wanted to mention was the state of the book on delivery was very poor and if it had been for a present I would not have been able to give it as it had deep scratch makes on the cover and the rim of the book was bent and damaged making it look used.

The product is quite fun and we had a great time using it. However, the quality is not very satisfying. The quality of the papers are not good and let the water even a little bit will make a few pages wet which is not desirable.
