how easy is this to unroll? Bird X is such a pain and hard to untangle.

It is awful, but even harder to install over a tree. Ideally, you need to shape the tree to have uniform height branches. Then get four very tall people with brooms to hook under the net and walk it over the tree. Take a video, it's hysterical!

Will this keep chipmunks out, wondering if chipmunks and darn squirrels will chew through this??

Well , I put it in front of my house in a pot and there are a lot of squirrels and rabbits but so far no one has tried to chew on it .

Will this kill birds?

Not likely. I’ve only had 1 bird get stuck that I had to help get out. But other then that, no dead birds. And it works great.

Does this come in a smaller mesh size?

My is a medium size, check with the vendor to find out if they have a small mesh
