Not anywhere close to semi permanent.
My first mistake was not trusting my instinct. My first thought was to not buy this product. For a couple reasons. 1. I was looking for a SEMI permanent, emphasize on the SEMI, I change my hair color quite often. At least 4 to 6 times a year. 2. Black is not my favorite color to dye my hair, but I really wanted to do a split black and green. 3. I've never used punky, and I usually dont trust products I myself or someone i know personally have used before. BUT, the brands I usually go for (Lime crime unicorn hair or artic fox) dont have the greatest black options. So I did a little research and found punky. Which was also 100% vegan, my number one priority. I decided I would go for it and try out this out. When it arrived, I was excited. I opened the package immediately. First thought : "this looks more like dark purple/blue, not black. But meh, black does usually have one or the other undertones" Second thought: "this smells GREAT!" Put my gloves on. Split my hair, and started applying, my hair was a lightly colored bleach blonde (natural hair color is a dirty blonde, but my hair is always colored like I stated before) my first apply, "yup, definitely blue/purple" finished applying. Before applying color on the other side i went to to wipe the color off my skin and realized it STAINED my skin, even through vaseline along my hairline. So that sucks but whatever. It will come off eventually. Did my other side with Lime Crime Unicorn Hair in 'Jello' After applying, I waited 30 minutes before rinsing my hair. While rinsing the water was DARK. I was afraid that the color didnt even stick that's how dark it was. I knew immediately it was gonna stain everything. And it didn't disappoint. It literally stained EVERYTHING it touched. The bathtub, shower walls. The CALKING in my shower, my SHOWER PRODUCT CONTAINERS, literally everything. After nearly 2 months, some stuff is STILL stained after hours spent scrubbing. Anyways, I get done rinsing. I actually end up liking the color, not exactly what I wanted, but liked it none the less. Dried my hair, it was beautiful. I loved it. No complaints at that point. Now, nearly two months later. This is when I decide to write my review because of what is happening now. Through time, my color faded. Into a lighter purple/blue. Which is fine, I guess. The color didnt stop bleeding until about a month of me washing my hair every other day. It stained everything on it's way out. My neck when I wore my hair down, my nails everytime I touched my head, my hats. My sheets, my pillowcases, my boyfriends arm when I would lay on it. Literally everything. So that was annoying. Fast forward til now. Got a new job recently and before I start next week, I needed to go back to a "less extreme color" my hair is plenty faded that if I were to use color remover, the color should come out just fine. Yea, WRONG. I used color remover WITH applying heat, for 45 minutes. Not just once, but TWICE. And it barely touched it. I finally had to use bleach (only on that half because the FIRST TIME I used the color remover, all of the Lime Crime was out of my hair on the other side.) And guess what? my hair is STILL PURPLE, with now touches of pink in the more 'damaged' areas. Never going to buy this product again. I bought SEMI permanent. Not permanent. So if you like changing your hair color, dont use this. But if you like semi cheap hair color that stays FOREVER. This is your stuff. Not mine ! Theres a reason I dont use permanent hair color.

False advertisement of color- on Punky not sellerl
Spring green is dark green. It's not a light yellow green. Tried to touch up my electric lizard and ruined my hair. The only thing i can do is either bleach it out or color oops it out and after bleaching everyone knows you can't really do that without destroying your hair. Can't exactly get a refund but buyer be warned- this color is not the color advertised. Plus side if you want dark green hair I have washed it with three shampoos, then tried an additional two one of which being dandruff shampoo and huzzah it's still dark green with only minor color loss and is no longer leaking color. Would've been awesome if that was what I wanted but I hate dark green so I'm screwed.

Dye is powerful
I got this because it was compared to the color depositing dye brand I usually use. They didn't have a dark black color, so I decided to try this brand. I started with black/dark grey roots with light grey/pastel blue ends. Prior to this, my entire head had been bleached and I had not applied any color for 3 weeks. I placed dye on my fingertips and immediately my fingers turned deep purple. I washed off what I could and decided to use gloves. I kept sectioning out and placing color on my roots in about a 4-inch length, and mixed another portion of the dye with conditioner to try to lighten it up, then placed the mixture another 4 inches down the length of my hair ,leaving about 6 inches of the ends with no dye. I left it in for over an hour. I rinsed it out for 20 minutes. It was rinsing orange, then blood red. I added shampoo, and it rinsed black. Anywhere the black water touched turned purple, including my hands, face and neck. It rinsed into the ends where I had not placed any dye. It stained the sink and counter. It did NOT take to my roots AT ALL and actually stripped all of the previous color and left it a tingy brown color. So now my hair is brown with dark purple ends all the way to the tips. My original plan was to have dark blue/black roots and pastel grey/blue ends.

Terrible
I bought this hair dye for prom since i usually dye my hair black and i like how it just makes my hair a bit darker and nicer than the natural color. I got this because i didnโt want to put permanent dye and have to go through the whole removal process when i would dye my hair cherry red later on so i found this and thought what could go wrong. Literally everything, it stains so bad, it stained absolutely everything the moment it touched anything, worse than my usual permanent black dye. It took forever to get out of my hair, i used SO MUCH SHAMPOO, and yes my hair is long but i probably used about half of my costco sized shampoo getting it all out. Lastly it killed my hair, i am such a hair freak and i take such good care of my hair, but this dye made my hair brittle, dry, and tangled, i have never had this issue with bleach and permanent dyes but this temporary dye ruined my hair and took two months to restore it after multiple hair masks, treatments, and moisturizers. Overall please donโt buy this and ruin your hair, and listen to all the bad reviews like i shouldโve.

Stunning unique pigment but bleeds and stains a ton!
I really wanted to rate Punky Colorโs semi permanent color in the shade Ebony 5 stars but I canโt since Iโve never had a dye stain everything and bleed THIS much! The color is an ethereal green based black which is just what I was looking for to neutralize left over pink/red/purple hues in my hair. It came out absolutely beautiful and Iโve had people stop me in public and stare and comment on it for this unique undertone! The undertone shines through in certain lighting and feels so magical! However, even after using vaseline, gloves, etc. it unfortunately stained anywhere it touched and turned my hands and bathtub GREEN for a couple days just from rinsing it out! I also had to rinse it out for about 30 minutes which feels like an eternity. Iโd suggest you wear gloves as youโre rinsing, take extra precaution wherever it touches your skin, walls, etc. because it is extremely potent and will dye anything it touches!!! Seriously the paint was coming off of my walls before successfully removing the dye and my bathtub might be permanently blue-green now. Nevertheless I adore this gorgeous color and will be using it in the future slathered in way more Vaseline and tarping down the entire room.

Bold Color!
This is more of an educational review. I Purchased the black since I need a Black semi-Permanent Hair color. The ingredients on this products are very good, specially if you compare it to other semi-permanent dye. There are two types of Alcohol; stearyl alcohol (emollient) and Cetyl Alcohol (thickening agents sometimes made of palm oil). Also there is Stearalkonium Chloride (NOT BLEACH, it found in plants and its a binding protein). Glycerine is a humectant and seals in moisture. WITH ALL THIS SAID, MY HAIR IS SUPPER SOFT!!!!. I Left the color in my hair for about 30 minutes since I wanted to make sure my hair absorbed most of it, and I was not afraid of negative affects of the ingredients. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE GLOVES INSIDE THE SHOWER WHEN THIS IS BEING WASHED OUT! This color washes out blue, and my nail bed was blue for two days. I will not give it a lesser review because.. well I should know better than to wash it out with my bare hands. There is not lingering scent my hair. Whatever I got behind my hears and face, washed off with soup and a sponge easily. I have LONG THICK dark brown hair up to my bum crack and pot is more than enough for one time. PRO TIP: If for some reason you do not have enough dye left, get some shampoo and massage it in with the dye on your hair. The pot is about the size of my palm. Hope this helps!

Is a massive and unnecessary mess and doesn't even hold up through a single washing.
I bought this thinking I could touch up my hair a bit and carry on like any other dye I've used. I stepped into the shower to rinse off the product and after the water ran clear, I was left with half of my body (half I dyed) completely stained. I had a serious Two-Face situation going on except with dye. As soon as the product touched my skin, even whilst rinsing it out and being mixed with the water, it still instantly stained. Same with my shower (which isn't as big of a deal since I live alone and it will eventually wear off.) It was like a smurf exploded in there. Anywhere the water splashed is covered in a dark blue (I used the Ebony colored dye) This begs the question, how was I ever supposed to rinse off the product without the use of a salon-style sink or at the very least a sink in general? I was only dying half of my hair, so I needed to be careful not to let it bleed into the other side (not sure about that one yet, since this is right after spending an hour or so intensely scrubbing the affected areas) If you've got the right equipment for this I could recommend this (results pending since I don't know how long it'll last...) I also recommend not using a shower to rinse off, or a bathtub. You don't want the dye touching anywhere on your skin for even a split second because it's hell getting that off your skin. ONLY use a metal sink. Good news, though, Vasoline definitely helped the hairline stay undyed. Too bad I didn't cover myself in it. Also, I mean, regardless of how long it lasts, it did in fact dye the hair so I can't give a 1. The product seems to work, it just wasn't a pleasant experience using it. I would honestly suggest other products if you're not using this because it's Vegan (I don't have experience with very many Vegan hair products), there are others out there that work just as well and far less of a mess. UPDATE: One day later, and after a single hairwash. My hair is suddenly blue in most places and my natural hair color perfectly shows through in others. Was definitely a waste of my money...

Never ever buying again.
This is the worst hair dye I have ever used. It was so bad, my daughter had to stay home from school, sobbing. So my daughter -- a brunette -- decided to dye her hair black. I was worried she wouldn't like it, so I suggested we buy a temporary dye. We got two jars, since she has a lot of hair. I noticed that my gloves turned green, but I dismissed it. That was my mistake, as it should've been a clue that it would DYE MY DAUGHTER GREEN. That wasn't a typo. My entire little girl became green. Her hair. Her clothes. Anything she touched. I had followed the directions exactly -- this isn't the first time I've dyed hair. Yet even after rinsing until it ran clear, it left dye everywhere, and even though we bought Ebony, it came out green. We scrubbed her clean and sent her to bed. The next day, she woke up with her skin dyed. She looked like she had black face. She sobbed while I tried to get it off her skin. Her bedding was stained. Her new dress was stained. It wouldn't really come off her skin, even with dish soap. She was so distraught, I told her to stay home from school and we would dye her hair again. We got black dye -- actual black dye from a good company -- and dyed her hair again with permanent dye. This time, it came out great (and actually black) and it stopped the temporary dye from staining everything. She loved it, thankfully, and went back to school the next day. Never, ever, again.

Not recommended
Ebony is supposed be black. Idk if the product was just old or mislabeled but it was teal green. It rinsed out teal and colored med blonde hair teal. It also came out in 3 washes and isn't eligible for a refund. Don't waste your money.
