Easy to Fit & works perfect!
Bought this as we live in a very poor tv reception area, and down in a valley. TV ariel engineer advised that a new tv ariel could be fitted at a cost of £120, but it wouldn't really make any difference to how many channels we receive (we only got around 20 channels on Freeview (and 10 of them were +1 channels!). He recommended a satellite dish (same price as ariel fited) but I'd need to buy a FreeSat box (around £50 to £60). We bought one and then I thought I'd check just how much a new dish cost. Was amazed to see how low a price this full kit was (we went for 30M cable option). Arrived quick, and installation was pretty straight forward once you got the dish/bracket assembled. Check out where your neighbours dishes are pointing as a rule of thumb. Make sure bracket is installed to the wall perfectly level as this is important. Once installed, set up using the included signal meter was easy. Once tuned we got 187 channels, and all have perfect picture etc (including HD channels which look super sharp now). So chuffed with this as never realised how easy it is to install and set up the dish. This kit looks to be well made, and has everything you need to install, just need a drill (preferably with hammer action), a small centre punch to mark the holes and give the drill a good starting point. Also a spirit level to make sure the bracket is bang on level/straight. Really happy with this kit and highly recommend it.

Good quality Zone 1 dish and accessories
I wanted to add Freesat channels to the existing Freeview (terrestrial) feeds available in the house. Plenty of videos to watch on YouTube to help with the dish assembly, but in truth, although the guide is brief, the setup is actually pretty straightforward, you just needs a 13mm socket to attach the bracket to your wall, and a 10mm socket to adjust the Azimuth (East & West) adjustment and Elevation adjustment once its mounted. The azimuth is the most important alignment, once you have found the satellite, it is just a case of setting the elevation to get the strongest signal. The "dishpointer" app and/or website are invaluable for ensuring you are pointing at the right satellite to start with (there are loads up there!). Make slow movements, constantly turning down the signal meter to the mid point each time it gets to maximum. Once you have the azimuth set it is far easier getting the elevation right rather than the other way around. The Quad LNB supplied will feed 4 different TV's, or 2 TV's (or set-top-boxes) if they have PVR recording capability. I purchased the kit with 50m of twin coaxial cable, which I cut in half to create a 25m feed for our living room TV and another 25m feed to the telly we have in the bedroom. All the components supplied seem to be good quality, even down to the raw plugs for the bracket and the cable clips to nail the cables to the wall. The kit supplies 4 F-type connectors with the LNB, there are 4 more F-type connectors already attached to the ends of the twin coaxial cable and two F-Type barrel joiners as well. I'm really pleased with this kit and its performance. For the price, I consider it to be great value.

decent dish
Just finished installing this dish. Wasn’t too bad. Could have done with a couple of extra nuts but you can always buy a couple and make the dish more rigid in strong winds. Not bad though. Used youtube to find how to assemble. Loads of videos of exact same dish so no problems. These are the same dishes that sky use for new customers because the sky logo is actually imprinted on the arm bracket, also it is the itentical dish and lnb that was installed on my neighbours house when they had sky installed. I didn’t bother with the sat finder because although it finds satellites it doesn’t tell you which one and there are loads of them so you could be there for a while. I downloaded a great free app called satellite finder pro. Once installed on your phone it gives you a selection of satellites to chose from. I selected one of the astra satellites there are about 3 or 4 to chose from the one I selected was astra 2A/B/C/D/F/G (east 28.2 ) this is the one with all the usual uk channels. Once you selected it shows a live compass of where in the sky your satellite is, just put your phone against the lnb and the screen tells you to move the dish exactly where the satellite is. When the dish finds the satellite your phone gives a loud beep. Tighten the nuts on the dish and tune your tv in. really easy and saves loads of time trying to find the right position in the sky. Great little app. You need a 10mm masonry bit for the wall mounting bracket and a 13mm spanner for the wall bracket screws. You also need a 10mm spanner for the nuts on the arm. The 4 black screws that attach the dish to the arm are a bit tough to screw in at first. What I did was started the screw holes without the dish first just so you have a good grip. Just tighten with a Philips screwdriver. The lnb has a pulldown plastic cap on the end so when it’s all set up just pull the cap and it covers the connectors as protection from the elements, nice feature. Lots of cable clips too although a few more cable ties would have been nice, only came with 2, used them to secure the excess cable to the dish arm to make it nice and neat. All in all a decent dish with some minor improvements needed but for £38 and a couple of hours work I’ve saved myself a few quid. I was quoted £120 by an installer. Hope this helps.

Good value good quality
It was a bit hard to understand at first, but once we put our minds to it, after a little bit of time and a few rude words, everything just came together, and the picture quality in HD is absolutely amazing. We bought this because the old one was full of rust and very weak in places, but the best part of all of this is the price. You see, our old dish they installed back 20 years ago cost us £*** pounds, so let's just say this: it is 100% cheaper to do it yourself. I am happy to say that this company delivered within 24 hours; it arrived at home. So do I recommend this company? 100% yes, I do. Tony.

Great value and works a treat
My old dish was going rusty and the cables and LNB were all a bit ropey. My Humax box kept losing the signal, which (according to the diagnostic menu) was about 70% quality on 60% strength. I was planning to replace the LNB but decided on this kit instead. First impression - nice, well built product and easy to assemble if you pay proper attention to the instructions. Second impression - setting the LNB skew was not as easy as just setting to a value of 1 to 5, as the markings are in degrees. However, I worked out the skew I needed and set the appropriate skew quilte easily. Also, the elevation doesn't have markings like my old one. Installation - mounting to the wall was easy. Pointing it in the right direction was easy as I had an old one to compare with, but actually using the satellite finder is really easy. Make sure you turn the volume up so you can hear it - and it has to been connected to your receiver (Sky, Humax, whatever) as that supplies the current needed to run it. I moved it around until the sound was the highest, and tightened the bolts. Then adjust the elevation, again until the sound is loudest, and tightened the bolts. On removing the satellite finder, I checked my Humax and the diagnostics showed 100% strength, 100% quality. Final impresstion - when I came to tidying up the cables, the clips to nail to the wall are GREAT! I've lost count of the phone and network clips that have bent when nailing into the outside of my house. These ones worked brilliantly - not a single one bent. Made my day ! :) Overall, I'm really pleased with this, and for the price, it's amazing.

Replaced my Sky dish myself and saved £270
We'd been using an 8yr old Sky dish for FreeSat and it stopped working. Local aerial engineer confirmed the rusty dish needed replacing as the LNB had died. He quoted £160 to replace the LNB or £310 to replace the dish, I saw this on Amazon and sent him on his way. I could've just got the LNB for ~£15, but could see the old rusty dish could do we being replaced too. The dish with LNB sells for ~£28 and the satellite alignment tool for £10, so this package was perfect and I ended up with a spare cable and plugs. Instructions were quite hard to follow, but the dish assembly was straightforward and I watched a YouTube video about using the satellite alignment tool. The wall mount matched my existing sky dish exactly, so unscrewed that one from the wall and screwed the new dish wall mount into the previous plugs. Had checked the basic alignment before I took the old dish down (it was pointing straight at the front door of the house across the street). So roughly aligned the new dish, then used the signal tool to fine tune the position. Couple of tips: 1) in order to power the satellite finder tool the cable needs to be plugged into the TV and the TV turned on and set the the TV source. You can tell you've got the right cable plugged in as the tool has a small backlight that comes on when you connect the cable connecting it to the TV (the TV sends power down the cable, to the dish). 2) for FreeSat in the UK you want to align the dish to Astra 28.2E (smart phone apps can show you the direction if you're not sure, but it was probably the direction of the old dish). If the signal tool is showing you have aligned the dish but you can't get FreeSat to tune on the TV, it's possible like me you first pointed the dish at Astra 19.2E they're pretty close. You can test this by switching the TV tuner to satellite and selecting the Astra 19.2 satellite, if it finds channels then you're pointing at the wrong satellite. Back up the ladder with the signal tool enabled, move the dish a little to the left and you'll find another signal, that's Astra 28.2E that carries FreeSat, back to the TV and scan for FreeSat channels and it found all the channels. 3) the small bolts to align the dish are easy to tighten using a small 10mm spanner, but the larger bolts in the wall were bigger than the socket set I had (possibly 12 or 13mm at a guess) I used one of those universal spring loaded socket attachments (£4 at Tesco) which fit my electric screwdriver and made removing and screwing in the new bolts a breeze. A bit tricky up a ladder holding the dish and the electric screwdriver, get someone to help you pass things up. Quite enjoyed the process and saved myself £270

Its working fine, eventually!
First, please be aware that this item is specifically for zone 1 in the UK. I did finally make it work in northern France, but it was a hassle. Second, the staff at SSL responded quickly to my queries and I was satisfied with the exchange. I have recommended that they specifically label all their zone 1 products properly so that this is clear to purchases. Third, the problem for self installers is that the sky is really crowded with satellites. So just using the provided meter doesn't work by itself. I used an iphone app to help with this, but even then it is hard to get the right positioning and inclination of the dish. Fourth, the frame does not contain any help with finding the right inclination. A scale would really have helped here. My dish is currently propped up with wood under the bottom of the frame to help it find the right angle. Attaching it flat to the wall does not work in my location. You cannot incline the dish enough to make it work correctly when all four screws are attached to the wall. Fifth, I did get it correctly assigned to the right satellite by getting Astra 5b tuned in and then altering it to receive Astra 2. I now finally have a good quality and strength signal, and probably will be affected by bad weather, but it works. I share this not to be nasty to SSL who did their part of the bargain by getting me the dish quickly and in good condition, but to stress that it will take persistence and that the instructions aren't the best in the world. I would not have got it working but for the fact that I could attach a smart tv directly to the satellite and figure out which satellite I was attached to and then make adjustments. A painful and laborious process involving relocating the dish once to clear some trees, and many trips up and down a ladder to adjust the box, then go through the process of trying to scan for channels.

Works brilliantly
Bought as a replacement for a TV aerial which gets blown off the roof every couple of years. Very complete kit arrived promptly containing everything needed. Fitting the dish was ok, four screws into the wall fixes the bracket - tip - make sure you can angle the dish in the right direction when deciding where to put the bracket on the wall. You need the sat receiver wired to the dish for the signal finder to work - there are YouTube vids on this which are worth watching. Then just tighten everything up, run the cable using ties and clips and job done. I bought a few extra bolts M6 x 16mm with locking nuts to hold the satellite dish in place as sturdily as poss. Kit is good although you may end up buying a couple of extra bits but overall value is amazing. Total time to fit about an afternoon with tea breaks, random pointing in the air and some wobbly ladder moments.
