Most car carpets and fabric seats are looped fibers and I would be afraid the stone would cause fraying as it passed over those surfaces. While I have no doubts that it would remove pet hair, it would most likely fray the fibers. **Q: Would this help a snake in shed? Is it a rougher material?** A: I don't have this product, but as an ex snake breeder I would just put some driftwood in the snakes cage so he has something to rub on, make sure to run a humidifier, and give him a good soak every day until he's able to shed. Please don't "help" him by tugging on his shedding skin or using this stone on him yourself. Give him a luke warm soak (daily for about an hour). Seriously, a bath does wonders. 👍 **Q: Do you use this while washing them or after washing them?** A: It can be used before or after washing to remove shedding hair. I thought I’d use it for my new house as the carpet on the stairs is like a magnet for pet hair. My stain couldn’t get it out. Well this certainly did. So easy. A few strokes over the carpet and I had a giant ball of hair and a clean stair. Great product. For note I tried to use it on my dog as a grooming brush which I understood is it’s actual purpose and it didn’t do a dam thing. Maybe I’m missing something.
