Can you use this in an oven?

I would not recommend using this in an oven. This puts out a lot of smoke, so you would need a really strong hood to keep the inside of your home from getting smoky. Also, this needs pretty high heat (i.e., the lit side of a grill) to get started. I don't think an oven would be hot enough unless this was directly under the broiler.

Will this work with an indoor smoker? we just got a nordic ware smoker and it calls for smoke pellets.

Janet...with most indoor smokers you just throw a handful of wood chips in the bottom of the pan so you shouldn't need to use the pouch. That said, if the Nordic Ware pan will accommodate the 11.5 inch X 6.5 inch size of the pouch it should be fine. The stainless steel pouch should transfer the heat from the pan to the wood chips without problems. I use mine on both gas and charcoal grills, sometimes right on the coals and sometimes on top of the cooking grate above the coals or burner.
