The text is very comfortable to read. The pages are thick and heavy for a paperback.
As many others have reported, the pages are unevenly cut at the long edge. IT IS DELIBERATE! IT IS MEANT TO BE LIKE THIS! The side of the book looks serrated, the cut is a choice.(the book is quite a cutthroat one of you aren't already aware) Not only a very probable "theory" because the images upon googling this version show the serrated edge. The real problem is the lacking product image gallery, a deluxe edition must have more than ONE display pictures! (Any item for sale must have necessary amount of pictures) So, please put a full detailed display of the books with their measurements and captures from all angles. Cause the book is expensive and everyone spending that much money (or any money, more of it just demands more care from the seller/publisher) must be provided information.

Book review
“Maybe there is a beast… maybe it's only us.” Thought-provoking. Grotesque. A hard book to rate although it is a very thought provoking book. I think the concept and the story itself was really really good but the writing seemed a little bit plain also there were too many landscape descriptions for my taste, especially for such a small book and the dialogues were so confusing that I was sometimes wondering which one of the boys is speaking right now. The premise had so much potential, Golding could have done so much it, but he seemed much more interested in penning a pedagogic novel than a captivating story -more concerned with showing the barbaric nature of society than in fleshing out many relevant details. So much was simply glossed over. Sadly, the story itself wasn’t all that compelling until the final three chapters. Although this was a thought-provoking allegory with a chilling message, it lacked the depth of character and attention to detail which make for a truly great novel.

The page cuts are very bad. Alignment is not proper.
This is the replacement btw, both the original and replacement had bad page cuts, and damaged cover. The pages within are not properly aligned. There is no refund option either, only replacement. I suggest getting this book from some other publisher/seller. Didn't expect this from Penguin.

Nice Copy of a Classic Book
This is a nicely presented paperback with coarse-cut pages which give it an antique feel. Please to have it in the library.
