Excellent Value Disposable Fountain Pen
Thornton's is an excellent value for the price. Look at the color guide for this pen or the assorted color package in the pictures to the left of the description. The brown is a dark brown. It stays dark even when it dries, so you would not have a problem copying or fading, but may be too dark for some art type projects. Fountain pen tips have some variety, but these write well, good ink flow, without scratching. I did not experience any issues with tops falling off -- maybe they fixed the issue, but all seems to click closed tightly and stay closed. At $1.25 per pen, this is a good deal. For disposable fountain pens, I would consider Thornton to be close to the Pilot Varsity and better priced; smoother writing than my experience with Zebra.

Nice pen & live the brown ink
I really like the brown ink and that there are disposable. I found the nibs wrote a bit scratchy. I probably just need to find the write paper. Brown ink is so relaxing! Very affordable. I will look for a medium nib if Thornton has one.

Beautiful Ink, writes well, but the caps start popping off.
It's too bad, because I love brown ink and fountain pens, but at some point the pen caps stop filling on them and will pop off. That, of course, makes the ink dry and clog the tip.

Fountain Pens are harder to copy, and easier to be an individual in today's world,
I like especially the color, a sort of sienna brown. My checks are antique white in color, so I use thispen to write the checks. Also, when I write a letter, which I admit to doing, as I do not do socialplatforms, the resulting long hand script looks more interesting than the LOL type messaging whichseems to permeate the current IT world ! Call me an ancient soul, but, at 70 years old, I have earned theright it would appear, to communicate in my own fashion. By the way, many of the people who receivemy correspondence, are returning it in kind. If they ask for a review, I give them one. Thanks, JES

Bargain fountain pen that performs well.
I took delivery of these pens a few months ago and like them very much. Some reviewers mention problems with the caps splitting, however I've had no problems whatsoever. I don't post the caps so maybe that is the problem. I have a large assortment of pens from very expensive to bargain and these pens are among my favorites.

Doesn't write fluidly, caps don't sty on.
I've tried lots of different type of paper, from cotton, notebook and a heavy antique stock (which is what I bought it for), and the ink just doesn't flow evenly. Aslo because of the pressure in the caps, they pop off and dry out the pens.

Cap splits and will not stay on..do not buy.
The pen writes very nicely but the caps split. After the first one split I thought I did something (dropped it and did not remember maybe?) but all three I use have split and I did not drop. When the cap splits it will not stay on and the pen dries out or worse..leaks. I taped the cap so it would be tight enough to stay on but they continue to split and must be retaped. The pen writes well but I have no desire to carry around tape all the time.
