I used to fix picture frame. Nice product. Recommend
Arriveed new and paste is good and easy to use. Easy to form and malleable. Cures hard and adheres to old wood. Texture is hard after curing...and can paint it. Good value.

Great Project Performance, but Infamous for a Short Shelf Life
Great Project Performance, but Infamous for a Short Shelf Life The DAP Plastic Wood-X with DryDex Wood Filler is a highly innovative and easy-to-use product for executing crisp, professional repairs on furniture or molding, but it suffers from a major flaw regarding storage longevity. Smart Dry Time Indicator: While you are using it fresh, it works wonderfully. The unique DryDex formula goes on bright pink and shifts to a natural wood tone when it is completely dry and ready to sand, removing all the traditional guesswork. The knife-grade latex paste spreads cleanly, resists shrinking, and securely anchors screws or nails once it has cured. Rapid Shelf-Life Expiration: The biggest downside is how incredibly fast it dies inside the container. Because it is a water-based latex formula designed to react and cure quickly upon exposure to air, the seal on the standard packaging rarely prevents it from drying out after the initial use. Storing it for a few months typically leaves you with a completely hardened, useless brick of dead filler. Pro-Tip for Storage Expansion: To get more life out of your next batch, try adding a tablespoon of warm water directly onto the top of the remaining paste before sealing it. Then, stretch a layer of plastic wrap tightly over the container opening before snapping the lid down hard, and store the container upside down to block incoming air. An exceptionally convenient wood filler for immediate DIY projects, but one that is best bought in small, single-use quantities due to its poor long-term shelf stability.

Easy to Work With and Dries Strong
The DAP 540 Natural Plastic Wood filler is one I’ve used a few times now, and it always performs well. It spreads smooth, fills gaps and holes clean, and dries to a solid finish that sands easy. The color blends nicely with most woods, especially once stained or painted. It doesn’t crack or shrink like some cheaper fillers do. Great for small repairs, trim work, or furniture touch-ups. Reliable, simple to use, and leaves a professional-looking finish every time.

Easy to use
I like using this stuff. Dries quick. Smooths with a wet rag after it dries. 4 stars because the container lid was cracked around the rim and it dried out before I could use most of it

Easy to work with
Worked great for me for a moderate sized project! I appreciate how it starts pink and dries tan, so you know when it’s ready to sand. It sands really beautifully. I completed this project in 3 layers, took a total of two days all together with dry time and such. All I used were 2 containers of this stuff, a sander, and 120 grit sandpaper. Super sturdy. This stuff rocks!

For light duty only
This stuff works well as a very basic wood filler. It starts off pink then turns tan when dry. It is easy to apply and you can get a relatively smooth finish even before sanding. It dries quickly and is easy to sand and paint. It smells really bad until it dries. I consider this to be a very light-duty cosmetic filler only. It works well for minor dents, scratches, nail holes, etc. but I would never trust it to anchor a screw or use for something that takes any kind of abuse. It is basically the same consistency as DAP spackle and makes a huge amount of dust when sanded. It is also a very small container and can be outrageously priced so be sure to shop around. If you need something that is easy to work with, dries quickly, is easily painted, and is for cosmetic purposes, this is fine but if you need heavy duty wood filler, this simply won't cut it.

Wood filler. quick drying easy sanding
Needed some sort of filler for the wooden mail box post. The filler worked perfect on the cracks and crevaces that naturally occurred in the wood. Patched with the filler, let it dry, then sanded with my battery powered hand held sander. Painted the post a nice bright red.

Good wood filler
Works great but it’s quite a small pot so good for small repairs which was what I needed
