Did not realize handle is fiberglass
I should have read the description a little more closely, did realize the handle is fiberglass. My fault plus I got it on sale so I can’t complain too much. I would recommend itsa buy.

This has been my daily driver for a number of years.
My two complaints are this gets stolen a lot and the epoxy that holds the head to the handle may break apart after a year of use. You would think that theft would not be so bad within the Union Carpenter ranks, but it’s been rampant since the days of the Great Recession. The fix for the epoxy problem is to apply new epoxy. Of course you will need to reset the head and clean up the old stuff before applying new epoxy. The reason I stick to this hammer is it does a good job in all positions and it does what titanium hammers can’t do in awkward spots.

Great hammer!!
I have several framing hammers--Estwing 22oz milled and smooth, Estwing 19oz Ultra Series and just got this Vaughan. This thing is incredible!! Great feel and balance. The head design is the best of the bunch

Skookum framing hammer
Made in america. Big hammer face, long handle. Nice rubber grip under the plastic wrap it came it. Paint chips off the milled face with use, not worried because it's a tool not a showpiece. Fiberglass hammer absorbs shock far better than a steel handle and lasts far longer than a wood handle. Originally received some small 16 ounce Vaughan hammer with a 21oz label pasted on the box. Had to return it and received the correct one now.

Strikes beautifully
Man oh man, I love this hammer. Slightly heavy at first but you get used to it. Handle is a little longer. Strikes beautifully. Just can’t say enough good things. Been using it for framing. Really great hammer if you don’t mind using something a tad bit heavy. Great destructive power. Love it
