I put it in a smaller atomizer and keep it in my pocket to use throughout the day. In my family, this isn’t just a scent. It’s folk medicine and a part of daily life. My bonus mother grew up in Alexandria, Egypt where Cologne 555 is the cure for just about everything. Headache? Splash of 555. Fever? Splash of 555. Feeling blue? You get the idea. In the States, it was hard to get 555 and expensive for the family to ship over, so I grew up with 4711. (Mom still called it 555, lol.) I have no idea if it really does anything for headaches, but it is a cheerful, uplifting scent that’s perfect for hot days, down days, whenever you need a bit of life-affirmation. Read the news? My parents always had a bottle of this in our family bathroom when I was growing up. It's labeled (in German) "Genuine Water from Cologne (Germany)". The bottle and the packaging are gorgeous, and it comes in other scents. This one is kind of citrusy, but it is a very weak scent, and a few minutes after I put it on, I'm no longer conscious of it, although it is "bracing" when I first put it one. I wish it lasted longer. I should probably try some of the other scents by this same company.

I have used this perfume since I was a teenager, and now I am an old grandma. I can recognize this perfume with my eyes closed. Many dishonest sellers dilute the perfume with water and sell it for full price. So far this vendor sold me already two bottles of the real perfume. I hope I found the one!
