In a collection of fables attributed to the third-century Brahman philosopher, Bidpai, and first devised to instruct royalty in proper conduct, animals demonstrate a variety of human qualities including friendship, loyalty, vanity, and treachery Review: Oh I love this collection of stories - Oh I love this collection of stories! Unfortunately, this one only has about a quarter of the stories that are in my Arabic version of this book (compiled by Munther Younes). If you love talking animal stories, you've got to read these stories. If you're trying to learn Arabic and you like classic stories, check out the collection Kalila wa Dimna compiled by Munther Younes. He's a brilliant teacher of Arabic at Yale who's put together a number of helpful things (check out if introduction to Quranic Arabic published by Rutledge Press...it's really helpful for seriously getting into the Quran once you've got a bit of the Arabic language in your blood). They don't know whether these stories were originally Indian or Persian (or something else...though most likely not Arabic). So these are ancient stories. Some very strange and violent, but fascinating! Review: Great - Honest seller. Product exactly as promised. Great eBayer
