The Magickian: A Study in Effective Magick Paperback – January 1, 1993

I heard a lot about this book but it was always out of print. Finally, I got my hands on it, and I am glad that I did because it confirmed and verified a lot of things that I already was aware of, and gave me some insight on subjects I had once upon a time pondered. This is a great book for all occultists, especially those who are new to the path because it is straightforward magickal talk.

Unfortunately it is currently out of print, but there are still copies floating around out there for the buying. In many respects this is a presentation of much of what can be found in "Basic Magick," but the material is handled in more depth. Of special note is the section on astrology. Cooper presents, as far as I can tell, a unique approach to applying astrological influences to one's magickal work. It takes some study to get the method, but it is very interesting once one does understand it.I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in Cooper or modern non-Golden Dawn magick. If you had to buy one book by Cooper, and you could find it, I'd say buy this one. I believe the author is planning to have the work re-issued in an updated format sometime in the near future.

Only time I've reviewed anything on here...This is hands down the best book on magick and metaphysics I've read. Covers so many areas and the way Philip Cooper explains things are easy to read. Explains exactly how your mind works and how to tap into your REAL power. A very essential book for those studying the subject. Love this book. I see why they stopped printing it and pushed the price so high. Keep checking amazon and EXPECT a lower price. It's what I did I got mine for $100. That's not a typo lol.

Warning! Do not purchase the Kindle Edition of this book. It is simply poor scans of a blurry pdf. The pdf scans are not even straight. They are all turned sideways and broken up. The fact Amazon allowed something this shoddy on their site is sad. Do Not Buy!
