My hair is very dark brown so I bought the color “dark brown” which worked perfectly. I almost got black thinking the dark brown in photos may not be dark enough, but I’m glad I didn’t. You use the short brush end, get a good amount of product, then hold your hair taut and brush on firmly. Super surprised it was so easy. Also can be dusted along the hairline to look fuller. The only problem I encountered was putting it directly on the skin on my hairline; it looked like a dark spot/blob and I had to use the fluffier side of the brush to blend it out which was kind of difficult because this stuff sticks pretty good. In the light outside it looks like the product settled into my pores and was splotchy. Almost looked like I just got my hair colored and the dye was still there. I know now to dust on lightly when it’s not actually on a lot of hair.
