After checking various online reviews for such machines as this at various prices with different whistles and bells, I opted for this one which is great value. And it has done exactly what I wanted and needed it to do. I wanted straight clean cuts in traditional 4mm and 5mm thick ceramic tiles to line a window aperture. Using this on a sturdy level surface (the ground!), I was able to make up and cut tiles exactly as I needed them. It has gone back into the box until next time I (or my son who thinks he will give it a try, now, too) need it. Definitely feels sturdy in use, and easy to gauge where to put the uncut tiles for scoring and cutting. If you're looking for a good starter tile cutter, choose this faithful one.
