Cycling In Ireland: A guide to the best of Irish cycling

I have to say I've found this book to be a fantastic guide to routes around the country. I've used it for planning trips and it's been invaluable for making that final decision on where to go. Already looking forward to completing the Iveragh Peninsula route this summer.

I really like this book. Lots of great ideas for day rides and some excellent longer rides too. The gpx files are great - especially if you have Komoot premium as the longer ride gpx files can be uploaded and split into smaller chunks. I’ve planned some very long multi day tours and this is really helpful and time saving.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. I have been a cycle tourer for almost 10 years and was in Ireland before this was published. I wish I had a copy then. It is great to have some routes marked out, with lots of useful information and fantastic that these can be downloaded as gpx files for use on the road. The presentation is brilliant, an easy and enjoyable exploration through the different areas of Ireland, set out in logical and easily navigated sections. Lots of useful information for cyclists from the beginner, family cyclists right through to the more hardened pedaler. I particularly like the mention of surfaces for each route, this is really valuable when you are touring on tiny tyres, as I have discovered the hard way. I would love to see more areas of Europe done in this way.

I have had this book for over a year and have used it many times to find suitable routes and navigate using the online gpx files.It is easy to use, well-organised and informative.

Some excellent rides in this book with lovely pictures, but if I had one bit of feedback I feel it would help if there was a description to go with the images. Perhaps a brief synopsis of the area and roads illustrated. Thanks.

This is yet another great quality book from David Flanagan. The quality of the publication and beautiful images throughout the book have made visitors to my home pick it up and admire and comment on it. There are varying routes that enable you to select one for your ability, (mine being pretty poor), and that being said, there are plenty of routes that I can enjoy. I really cannot recommend this book enough, it should get 10 stars.
