Franklin Sports Volleyball & Badminton Combo - Professional

Purchased for my son's graduation party last summer and we love it! Very durable even after getting blow down in strong storms. Easy and quick to set up, perfect height, and we use it alot for both volleyball and badminton. It's brought alot of fun through 3 graduation parties over the past year, as our friends have borrowed it for theirs as well.

My kids love volleyball and we finally had a big yard to put a net up. They love it. We play everyday, easy to set up, and withstands high winds. The height is great for them and adults. Also comes with birdie, which I love as well. Great buy.

The Franklin Professional Volleyball and Badminton Combo Set includes a reasonable quality set-up for a full-size volleyball net. The 30 foot width allows a large group to play, but may be larger than necessary or larger than some spaces can accommodate. This works fine as a portable set, as the set up isn't too difficult or time-consuming, and it isn't very heavy. But you may want different stakes if you plan to use this at the beach. SET-UP: You'll need two people to set up the net, but they don't both have to be adults. I was able to set the net up with the help of a ten-year-old child. Set up the net and guy ropes, then go back and further tighten them. I could set the net up again in about 20 minutes or less (as long as I have a hammer for the stakes, see below). Taking the net down and packing it away is quick and straightforward. The most important set-up tips: - Be sure the two upper guy ropes are staked at least five to six feet to either side of the poles, or the net will be unstable. - Trying to get the stakes into hard ground without some kind of mallet or hammer will be very frustrating. This Camping Hammer with Stake Puller worked well for me, and is inexpensive enough to be worth having around for this set and our tents. - Give some thought to what height you want the net to be, before you set it up. Decide whether you want to use all three pole pieces (8 feet high) or just two pieces (5 feet high). LIMITED HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT: The height adjustments are limited if you want to use it with players of different sizes and abilities. With all three pole pieces, the poles are 8 feet high. That's more or less the official height for men, but too tall for women. It's also too tall for children and younger teens. The alternative is to use two pole pieces, for a height of about 5 feet. That's certainly an option, but a little too low. It would be nice if there were an option to easily adjust the height more effectively to a height that worked better for casual players, as that's the real user group for this product. REASONABLE QUALITY: The set seems a reasonable quality. The net, poles, and ropes seem reasonably well made. The ball is good enough, though you may want to upgrade. PUMP AND NEEDLE: The plastic pump seems fairly low quality - I used another pump - and I'm not sure what they were thinking in providing a plastic needle. Also, note that the needle is hidden in the handle of the pump under a sticker, and as the comments here indicate it's easy to miss. STAKES: The stakes are thin-ish metal and U-shaped (see the photos with the listing), adequate for medium to hard ground. If you want to set it up on loose ground or sand, you'll need entirely different stakes. Two options are Adams Stakes which are more general purpose, or something like these Sand and Snow Stakes . The net requires six stakes. CARE: You'll want to discourage people from bumping the poles or grabbing or hanging onto the net. Kids seem to do that without really thinking about it. While full size (8 feet tall and 30 feet wide), the quality might not hold up to serious play by larger adults. BADMINTON: The rackets seem well made. The birdies will likely get squished and not fly true if stored with the set, and may be something you want to upgrade. Note that it's not really possible to play badminton if there's a significant amount of wind. Badminton is not really an outdoor sport. So while it can be a nice addition to the set, keep in mind that you may not be able to play when you would like to. COURT MARKERS: I have not tried using the markers for the court boundaries that are included in the Professional set, but it's good that they were included. If I were setting it up for a longer period, or in the backyard, I would have given those a try.

Everything looks great but the ball has a hole in it.

We set this up when we were stuck at home and played for awhile, trying to get the kid outdoors. It didn’t go over well with the child - I guess volley ball and raquetball weren’t for them, but me and the husband had fun. It was relatively easy to set up and then gets put up easily and neatly. It’s a good investment.

Been using this for years now. Left the net up for month, and it endured the weather. Been playing with the set for some time although we ordered different rackets as after a while these ones started to spin/fall apart. Overall, the net is great, the birdies are great, the rackets are like a 2/5 and everything else about the kit is awesome.

Badminton set all good but I chose this set because it had the volleyball addition. So very annoyed on our weekend when we opened the set and there was no pump for the volleyball. Please send pump urgently

La estructura es muy frágil. Las red no se puede ajustar a tres medidas. La válvula no venía, sólo la bomba. Instrucciones malas para el armado. Muy cara para lo que es.
