Armor Tumbled Brass Pocket Lighter

Very attractive tactile feeling, non-slip, due to the tumbled surface. Also it will wear long and slow in the pocket, being polished by the pocket lint, and gain the look of lovingly used look--if I choose to carry it in my pocket--which I never will. This stays in my collection, along with a regular, high-gloss solid brass, and Spread Eagle Bas-Relief solid brass, along with others. There is something about solid brass that gives Zippo a special pull! The insert, however, is brass(?)-plated steel, reacting to a magnet. All my brass Zippos have steel inserts. Some guys say Solid Brass Zippos come with brass inserts, but they seem to have assumed that, since it appears brass colored, it is made of brass. The hinge is solid, and did not show noticeable wobble. The tumbled surface is evenly and lightly scratched, and grips well with a bare hand. The wick stood up proudly, and the wheel is pinned tight. I am just debating, whether I should fill it and light it, or just kill the urge and keep it pristine.

Go for the armor zippos. The metal is thicker. Excellent USA MADE LIGHTER.

The price for the armor brass lighter is much better here than on the Zippo site. I got the tumbled brass finish; it's rugged looking, like a battle scarred veteran of many experiences. There are lots of scratches and scuffs that only serve to highlight the toughness of the thick armored case. I can still see the spot welds above and below the hinge, but I think that's the case with most Zippos. I have seen some reviews that complain that the click is not the same, and that's true. It's most noticeable upon closing. The top slams shut with more authority and a firmer "clunk." But to me it is a pretty subtle difference. It just enhances the Zippo-ness of the Zippo and intensifies the experience. I ordered a butane insert that I had intended to use with this lighter, but I had to stick with the stock insert, because it also has a brass finish and looks great. So the double torch went in my other Zippo and now I have two new toys to play with. If Zippo ever reads this, I suggest you make the butane inserts in all of the same colors that he traditional inserts are available in, but overall this is a great lighter.

I ordered this lighter for a camping trip with some guys. I knew we would be sitting around the fire each day, so I thought this would make an elegant accessory to my camping gear. It has a good weight, textures surface, quality feel, and satisfying click. The only downfall is that I put the lighter fluid in a few weeks before the trip and it didn't work too well. I assumed it had a little tank you fill with the fluid, but you just moisten a cotton-like material. Another guy on the trip, who uses one regularly said you have to refill them every week. I will probably give it to someone else and use my new torch-like lighter for the campfires.

I've had a few drops and I KNOW there has been less damage to the case than the classic would have shown. Not recommended for "Zippo tricks" as the hinge isn't any beefier than the classic and the heavier lid will put more strain on the hinge. Feels better in the hand than the classic and the "ping" of snapping it open and closed is more pronounced as well. As far as "leaking" - it's a Zippo, it's meant to be used, daily, not sitting in a drawer or bug out bag. Get a butane lighter, or better yet a Bic, if you don't intend on using it. Yeah, you have to fill a Zippo every two or three days, you have to trim the wick, you have to replace the flint; and when you need it to light, it just DOES, the first time, every time.

The lighter looks good and has good in hand feel, the quality is as expected from zippo but I feel like that the hing could have been stronger 🤷‍♂️ hing feels a little flimsy for the price as compared from that of a similarly priced zorro lighter. Overall the lighter is good 👍 and functions properly 🔥 (just keep an eye on the price because you can some times get a better price at official zippo India site)

I ordered a tumbled brass armor zippo and got exactly what I ordered. This lighter works perfectly and is very durable. The tumbled brass is a beautiful finish for a zippo lighter. I also love the brass insert. Everything arrived on time and in perfect condition. Theses lighters will last a lifetime and if they don't you can get them fixed for free. You wont find a better lighter anywhere. I will be ordering it again soon as gifts for friends and family. I am very pleased this is the nicest lighter I have ever seen !
