Goldwood Sound GW-212/8 OEM 12" Woofer 240 Watts 8ohm Replacement Speaker

Good replacement speakers for my old Jenson stereo speakers. Got my old speakers out of storage an discovered one of the speakers had come apart. Read some of the reviews and decided on these for replacement and after a little modification of the enclosures , they worked fine. Good sound quality almost equal to the originals. Good economical way to restore old stereo systems. Seems to be good quality.

My 'college speakers' lost their woofers due to age - completely rotted away as they've been sitting in storage for several years. I was going to toss the speakers but my son wanted to try to save them as he's living on a budget and can't afford high end speakers. I figured I'd see if I could find a pair of 12" woofers to replace the low end as both mid and high were still in good shape. These fit into the enclosure easily - simple allen wrench replacement. The 'heft' of these speakers is not going to impress (magnets are much lighter than the woofers being replaced) but the sound is actually very good. A lot of thump and growl with songs that push into the lower range and I think it will improve once they break in (and I think they need to have 100 hours or so to actually get there). For the price, these are definitely a winner and they hold up pretty when paired with a high end amp. They are not going to fool you into thinking you now own audiophile quality speakers ($2K+) but you won't be disappointed either.

I have a set of vintage Fisher ST-440 speakers I got from a friend. These are from 1976. The OEM woofers had cloth surrounds and did ok. I decided to try some new woofers from Amazon both woofers came quickly. The GoldWood seem to be decent quality replacements. I knew that if they did not work Amazon return policy is the best. So I installed these which 12 screws to remove the old drivers. These are bass reflex speaker design. I go them installed even the beauty trims were used. The sound is a bit more robust over the OEM drivers due to age I am sure. The bottom end of these speakers now are very deep indeed. This woofer can play deep and loud if desired. The other speakers in the cabinets are all original and blend very nicely with the new woofers. I have them hanging on the wall in my garage and boy do the fill it up with sound. GoldWood woofers are impressive and so is their price. Please see pictures of the new woofers installed, which they look nice too.

I had built tower speakers back in the 70's, that had sounded great back in the day. After sitting in the basement for many years, the speaker cones had disintegrated, yet the cabinets were still beautiful, solid mahogany. So I bought 4 of these 12" woofers and rebuilt the crossover networks. They sound fantastic like I'm back in the 70's again. I would recommend them.

My wife had tower speakers from her dad and she didn't want to part with them, all the speakers were toast and the 3 way controllers toast to. so I bought these to surprise her and rebuild her dads tower speakers with upgraded wiring 3 way controller and new speakers. Big difference now when watching movies and listening to music!

Awesome replacement speakers for sure!!! Just put them in my old school Sony Tower Speakers and once again they crank! Powerful sound and good quality! Good sized magnet for them too! Can’t really beat it for the price! These saved my speaker system for sure! 10/10 do recommend! (They bump pretty hard with the right stereo unit)
