The Fireplace works, but the display does not light up or show info. Do you have to turn off gas to replace the display unit?

The unit is entirely low voltage electrical. Just put the existing wires on the new unit in the exact same places as on the old unit. Works perfectly. You do not have to turn to turn off the gas.

Does it have three wire connections

My recollection when installing is that it does have 3 wires. Very easy to replace and worked instantly.
