Definitely what I needed during tomato canning season. Actually it kind of exceeds expectations. I'm thinking this is one of those handy dandy tools that I won't use a lot but will be here for years down the road for those certain things. I would definitely recommend it and would buy it again

Ok, I don't know about the in-charge portion of the heading, but this Large Scoop Colander is perfect for removing cheese curd from the pot of whey, easily. I have tried pouring off the whey and for me, it just doesn't work. I have a 12-quart stock pot for making cheese. Lifting that when filled with 2 gallons of milk curds and whey is very heavy and hard to pour without spilling it everywhere. This Large Scoop Colander has a really wide and deep bowl that allows me to dip out large amounts of curds without spilling it all over the kitchen floor. And trust me when I say that whey is extremely sticky when you spill it on the floor. With this scoop, I can separate the curds from the whey is just minutes, with no mess. I guess that does make it 'in charge'!

When It arrived I thought it was too big. Well I was wrong! I use this all the time with pasta! This is a favorite kitchen tool! I can scoop out the pasta with ease, instead of taking the pot to the sink and dumping it into a colander. I prefer this method, and it is much safer for me!

I’m using this tool for skimming fat from the top of my stews, soups . I also use it as a colander.

This thing is great. I use it all the time. Canning, everyday cooking, skimming. If fact, I was surprised how much use it is. Big enough to lift some larger foods from a pot. Great item and very handy.

A nice rounded bowl on the scoop. Sturdy.

It appears to be a sturdy product. But, a few things to note. #1 the edge, across from the handle, is slim. I can't rest the colander across the top of the pot to drain contents. It won't stay, but falls back into the pot. #2 the edges of the holes are very precise/ sharp. Because they are not smooth food stuff tends to stick to the holes more making it more difficult to clean. I use this mostly to drain the curds from the whey when making cheese. I would not recommend this product for that purpose. I have also tried using it for draining pasta, but the lack of the edge means I can't set it down full if a child needs me or I need to pull something out of the oven real quick. This is a slight inconvenience. I think this product would work well if you were using it to pull stuff out of hot oil..... Happy shopping
