2nd UPDATE July 2022: replaced my 2018 green JL with a ‘22 4xE hybrid (also a JL) and was able to keep this Sunrider top for the new Jeep. It’s still working perfectly and STILL THE BEST accessory I’ve bought for my jeep hands down. Even three years later! UPDATE: NINE MONTHS LATER, it’s STILL my favorite accessory ever AND my freedom panels are still in storage. I have never even taken them out again. I flip my Sunrider top open almost every time I drive unless the weather absolutely will not cooperate. LOVE it and still super happy with the purchase. Original post: I absolutely adore this Sunrider top! I recently went from a 2012 Wrangler Sport JK with a soft top to this 2018 Rubicon Unlimited JL with a hardtop, and while I love the new Jeep overall, I was *not* a fan of messing with Freedom Panels to have the open-air experience. I was accustomed to putting the front section of my soft top back at stop lights (because it was so fast), and switching to the Freedom Panels on a hard top was no bueno for me. Enter the Bestop Sunrider top. I heard good things, and my bestie (who drives a 2018 Wrangler Sahara Unlimited JK) both decided to try it out. We tried hers first (same top but a different version that fits the JK, whereas this one I'm reviewing fits the JL). We put the Sunrider top on her Jeep without much trouble, and she loves it! Works great and probably would give it four stars of five, but only because (like other reviewers) we noticed a couple of the bolts could have been longer and would have made the install on that version a little easier. HOWEVER... this twill Sunrider top that fits the JL is another story entirely! This twill Sunrider top for the JL is completely AMAZING. My friend helped me install it, and she and I both had no experience doing anything like this other than putting a similar Sunrider top on her Jeep a week or two earlier. We installed the top in under a half-hour with NO problems, NO profanity (hahaha), and it fit *perfectly*. Every bolt/screw/part fit beautifully and installed easily. It fit so well and came together so easily I was *convinced* the trouble with it would show up either when I drove it or when I took it through the car wash, but I was definitely wrong! I feared bad road noise when it's closed, and I haven't noticed a difference at all (it's still a Jeep after all... not exactly the first choice if you're looking for a super quiet ride). It rides just fine when it's open as well (and perhaps I should use the velcro straps to tie back the top when it's open, but I *never* do and it seems fine). And at the car wash I was *certain* there would be some water getting through somewhere, but it hasn't let a single drop of water inside. It fit so well it's like a factory part instead of a third-party item. I have only had the Sunrider top on my Jeep for a few days now, but I can easily say it's my favorite accessory I've ever purchased. I love that I can quickly flip a couple of clamps and toss the front section back - even at a stoplight - and if it starts raining I can put the top back on just as quickly and easily. I love this Sunrider top so much I've opted not to store my freedom panels in my Jeep and have actually placed them in storage. I won't be needing them for a while. Or perhaps ever. Thanks, Bestop! WORTH EVERY PENNY!! Spend the extra money and get the twill. It is high quality and will last a long time. Easy to assemble and install. Looks great, works wonderfully and it is actually quieter and less windy at highway speeds than at 40-50mph. I absolutely love it and have used it daily. Being able to pop it open and closed without having to get out of the vehicle is awesome and so worth it. Kicking myself for not buying this thing years ago.

Purchased the twill Sunrider April 2026 for my 2023 2-door jeep wrangler. So far it’s been awesome! I drove home from work (35 miles) with the top down going between 65-75 mph and no issues other than it being extremely windy which is expected. And after a round of severe thunderstorms, I was worried about leaks and my seats getting wet but so far it’s been dry. It’s easy to open and close and the alignment fits nice and secure. My husband and I installed it with minimal difficulties other than the instructions not being clear. They could be more clear on distinguishing right and left side and you def have to have a little common sense to install properly. When driving down the road and top is closed, there is some wind noise you have to get used to but I think it’s minimal. And now I don’t even notice it. I will write another update in a few months and I’m hoping I still love it! Bestop brand so far has impressed me and I’m hard to impress.

I looked at this for a while after getting the Jeep. I already have a hoist for taking off my top, so wasn't sure this would be a great value. After.my first summer with it, I am glad I got it. I live in Michigan, so I see keeping this on my Jeep in the hot months of June, July and August. It's nice to be able be out and flip open the front without having to plan to make sure we have good weather. Initial assembly was NOT simple. The Z-clips we're a pain in the a**. I ended up needing help to figure out how to get them installed.and to stay, doesn't seem like that part is a one man job. Also, I wish the instructions would say driver side and passenger side instead of left and right. For those not sure left is driver, right is passenger. I had to Google that. LOL! Once it's together getting it on and off is simple. I put it on and keep it on and then took it off and stored it and went back to my freedom panels for the winter. So, it does what I wanted it to do. I have sun shades installed when I have my freedom panels on. I wish there was a way to keep those and use this too, but there isn't. That's my only downside. It's a bit expensive, but good quality. It's louder with this than the freedom panels, but not too bad and I expected that.

Exceeds expectations! While the factory "Freedom" Panels work to give a great open air experience, unfortunately we've all learned the hard way that Freedom Panels are cumbersome, heavy, and awkward to use - making it a 'chore' to get the open air experience you want. The Bestop Sunrider Softop solves this problem - it's INCREDIBLY EASY AND CONVENIENT to use when you want to open the top and it's just as easy to close. Additionally the Sunrider is pretty easy to install as well - I did it myself in under an hour just watching a couple vids online. It fits great, looks awesome, is very functional, and does not leak. It's been everything I wanted and more. 100% I would recommend the Sunrider.

Love this top! Easy open and easy close. No need to keep freedom tops with you. I enjoy the open air and sun even more now since I don’t have to worry about weather. The quality of the twill top is excellent, no leaks of installed correctly. Fits perfectly and looks great.

This was the best change I could make to my jeep. Easy to assemble did it all by myself I used a step ladder to place it on top video says use two people well..... anyway easy peasy the only one thing is I wish it had a pull down flap.... I put my own on it butbitbwpuld make this product extra great. Durable nice fit fold easy alignment was on point no missing parts love it one thing assembled first also I didn't have a z ring I had the circle ring wish the instructions was written in just words and them words and pictures sometimes those instructions are hard to follow when the Pic is looking kind of off

Ce toit est fantastique. Cinq secondes pour l'ouvrir et cinq secondes pour le fermer. Fini le remisage des toits rigides et le doute des températures nuageuses. J'ai ce toit depuis environ deux semaines et je l'ouvre à chaque fois que je roule avec mon Jeep (Wrangler JL 2021 Altitude). Je profite maintenant pleinement de l'ouverture de ce toit. J'y ai pensé longtemps avec de l'acheter. Je suis extrêmement satisfait de mon achat. Les toits rigides sont encombrants dans le coffre et sont assez pesants dans le sac de remisage. Il est un peu dispendieux mais sa fonctionnalité est exceptionnelle. N'hésitez pas à vous en commander un, vous ne le regretterez pas. Le mien est en sergé (twill). Ce n'est pas plus bruyant que le toit rigide et il est totalement étanche. L'apparence de mon Jeep parait encore mieux qu'avec mes toits rigides Le vendeur aurait pu fournir deux petits capuchons noirs pour couvrir le bout des boulons qui dépassent les barres transversales du toit. J'ai réglé le problème en installant deux petits capuchons noirs de valves de bicyclettes sur ceux-ci. C'est beaucoup mieux. L'installation complète du toit a pris trente minutes. Je vous suggère d'insérer les S de métal du toit sur les barres transversales avant de les visser à la carrosserie. Ce sera plus facile. Sur YouTube ils font le contraire et c'est très pénible. Nous ne les voyons jamais insérer les S entièrement. Bon achat !

Excelente, super fácil de instalar. Muy divertido, un poco de ruido al interior (cerrado) arriba de 110 kilómetros pero nada que no se tolere. Excelente compra si te gusta el aire libre.
