The Dayton Audio APA100 Class AB Stereo Amplifier delivers 60 watts per channel RMS into 8 ohms and 75 watts at 4 ohms, featuring a 2-channel Class AB circuit for precise audio. It includes two RCA line level inputs with automatic source switching and RCA stereo looping outputs for additional amplifiers, along with an A/B speaker selector switch for simplified connectivity.

Great little AMP for the $
Automatic On/Off is very sensitive, and does not appear to be waiting a set time before switching off, cuts off when switching sources on TV for example. Sound is great for such a low price. I would buy again.

Was nice while it lasted, but only lasted a month under careful and moderate use
This amp worked well when it actually worked for about a month. After about a month and moderate amount of listening time, and rarely playing it above half or noon volume (and never above 2:30 for extended periods), one day, out of the blue, it just completely stopped working in that it wouldn't even turn on. I had used it a couple days prior with no issue, and when I woke up on a weekend morning, tried to turn it on, it wouldn't power on. Tried uplugging it for awhile, tried switching the AB speaker switch, etc, and nada. Also, no equipment was placed on top of it, because I knew this and other AB type amps tend to run warm to hot.In a way, I guess it was a blessing in disguise though, as when I bought this amp, I wasn't aware of the SMSL Q5 Pro Amp. After I returned the Dayton one, I bought the above one, which has significantly more features, has a remote, uses less power, and has lower distortion level. Much happier so far, and since it's a class D amp, which doesn't run warm or hot, is more generally efficient, and a fairly high quality build, theoretically, it should last longer than even a well built AB amp. (The extra 20 dollars or so more is definitely worth it--just for the remote alone). The only advantage for the Dayton amp was that it was slightly more loud in volume, but not significantly so.

Good job driving a 8" subwoofer in my home theater
Does what it says. Good job driving a 8" subwoofer in my home theater. I might buy a couple more of these. And yes, the pilot light is WAY too bright. Put black tape over it. Or if you like to solder, go in and add another resistor there.

Great sound. But for a boomer like me unfamiliar with new fangled speaker connection method, would help to provide a clue. Otherwise awesome

Reliability issues (was great until it died)
UPDATED AFTER JUST OVER 1 YEARThe amp was great... but it just died the other day. It's been operating in a reasonably well ventilated area and not driven too hard. Steer clear of this and get something more reliable.ORIGINAL REVIEWGreat, inexpensive amplifier! I'm using it to power 2 Klipsch RM-14 speakers attached to the line output of my computer. Sound gets sufficiently loud for most music listening, television, and movies. If you want to blow your face off, this is obviously not the equipment for you.Fits nicely behind my TV unit.As others have pointed out, the unit works best when you connect your primary input to line in 2 rather than line in 1. Otherwise, if you are using only 1 input, the unit will go silent periodically when the line level drops because it is switching to the other input.Again, as others have pointed out, the auto-off feature is a bit too sensitive. I've decided to not use it. With the above advice, the device powers my speakers without interruption.

Great amplifier for the price!
For the money, this amplifier is amazing! The sound quality is excellent, and unlike another review here, the amp will stay "awake" for about 12 minutes before automatically shutting off after no signal. This is accomplished best by using the LINE 2 input. Otherwise the amp will constantly switch back to LINE 2 after it sees no signal at LINE 1.Without measurements, it's 60 watt per channel claim seems reasonable, although it would be nice to see some old fashioned FTC specifications (power into a specified load, at a given distortion level, either at 1Khz or from 20-20Khz).It runs cool unless driven very hard. Ensure you provide adequate space for ventilation as described in the manual, they really mean it! It does feature overheat and overload protection. For $100, it's a great value for a second system. I recommend pairing it with a Chromecast Audio or Apple Airplay device as a source. I am currently using it with a medium sized pair of Paradigm speakers, and the sound is quite lovely. It gets a little strained with loud rock music, but turn the volume down, and it's wonderful and detailed, especially with jazz and classical. Recommended! One usability note - the tri-color power/status LED is blindingly bright, I recommend dimming it with a light dim if it's used in a bedroom or will otherwise bother you. Also, there is no phono input, you will need to supply a standalone phono preamp with line outs, or use a turntable with line out. Otherwise the volume level will be impossibly low, with no RIAA equalization.Since this amp is currently unavailable here and at parts-express.com, I suspect a replacement model is on the way. Hopefully they have revised the minor shortcomings of another very solid amplifier. Listen to music the way the Brits did in the 80's, with this basic integrated amplifier.
