Replacement for Liftmaster 41c4220a Gear and Sprocket Kit fits Chamberlain, Sears, Craftsman 1/3 and 1/2 HP Chain Drive Models

This worked for our 1994 garage door opener. I’m glad my brother convinced me to order the part instead of a new opener. Well worth the price and fairly easy install.

I was looking for a quick fix for my old SEARS 1/3 HP garage door opener. The gear had shredded itself and was no longer operating. Although my re-installation of the replacement gear was a bit harder than most YouTube video walkthroughs (due to limited space of where the motor was installed), the replacement gear and sprocket kit worked perfectly. The included grease and spare parts were awesome, and I'm glad I went with this kit over getting (1)just the gear, and (2)another kit that didn't include the plastic lock on the lower gear mounted to the rod. My garage door opener was so old that the grease had become adhesive. The bottom plastic lock was essentially glued in place and broke when I tried to remove it. Had I not ordered this kit, which included that lock, I would have had a bigger headache figuring out what to replace it with. I will add that it's quite important that you add the grease. I tried testing the motor with the new gear before greasing it, and the plastic-on-plastic (without grease) friction already caused some of the plastic of the gear to grind away. Oops. Let my mistake be your salvation! My SEARS garage door opener is no longer up to code, so it'll have to be replaced anyhow, but a $20'ish temporary fix to get me through the winter and severely cold (DIY working) month is a blessing.

Day 1 review: Good product. Easy to install. Since the screw holes are not pre-threaded, thread them with the screws before installing the gear set.

This part arrived on time and was a perfect fit for my 1/2 hp craftsman garage door opener. In about an hour and half I had the part installed and the door back online. This fix probably isn’t for a beginner, but with a little perseverance, you can fix your existing unit and avoid a whole new install.

This product fit my Chamberlain garage door opener and it worked great.

El producto cumple con las expectativas requeridas, un poco complicado de reemplazar por la parte que originalmente se daño, pero con un poco de paciencia, quedo mejor de lo esperado. Viene con los reemplazos necesarios para hacer la correcta colocación. En caso que no tengan la paciencia para el cambiarlo es recomendable contratar a personal especializado, ya que en algunos momentos si es tedioso estar maniobrando en las alturas (donde comúnmente se encuentran los motores), ademas que si requiere sapiencia el ajustar los máximos de apertura y cierre.

Relatively easy to install with online videos as support. Works well, but still noisy. Think I might need to change the chain.
