I came across of this product from customer's reviews. I was searching for a lip balm that is gentle and will help my flareup of eczema on my lips. I had a bad flare up ,causing my lips to swell up,cracked, dried skin and with burning sensation. After using Banish Chapped lips Emu Joy it gives me comfort and my lips started to heal & feel better after 48 hours. Since them I have been using this product for 2 years now. It has no scent ,no flavor, and it's moisturizing. The only thing I would suggest is to order from the manufacturer website itself, instead of Amazon , only because of the price. Finally! I have had such a ridiculously hard time finding a product that works for my lips and now I've found it. I have constantly been fighting a losing battle with dry flaky lips. I can't even wear lipstick b/c it just looks horrible with my chapped lips. I've tried so many products and some of them have been ok but not quite what I had hoped for. Within the first day of using this lip balm my lips were soft and felt hydrated for once! I've only been using this for about 5 days and I already want to order more. The smell isn't my favorite but it's not distracting or overly potent. I'm going for quality not smell. The balm doesn't go on thick and greasy at all, and it lasts longer than other balms I have used. Overall, very satisfied. If you struggle with super flaky lips that just won't go away I would definitely recommend you give this a try- it's way better than wasting money on a bunch of cheap products that end up making your lips worse off than what you started with.

I’d been applying either straight Vaseline or another petroleum based product to my lips each night at bedtime for years with no problem. One day I awoke with fat lips - looking as though I’d been punched in the face. The swelling took several days to go down and I was left with sore chapped lips that lingered for days. I stopped using anything on my lips and tried again with the Vaseline several weeks later. Same result. After much research I discovered this Emu Oil Balm and found that it works perfectly for me! It is soothing and non-irritating, and has no petroleum or other chemical ingredients. It seemed pricey at first but since I only use it at night the tube consistently lasts me 15 months. I’m on my third tube and hope they never stop making this product!

I have allergies and my lips and skin gets so dry from taking so many different kinds of allergy medications. I've tried different products for my face. Finally I found an emu oil that works wonders for my face. My skin cleared up from hormonal acne and flakiness. I decided to put some on my lips, but there were several problems to using the actual oil. It tasted horrible and way too oily on my lips. So I look up different options and found this product. I've been using it for over 6 months now and I now my lips are loving it. Even though the price is on the higher end than other products, it's comes in a large container - double the size of a regular size chapstick. It glides on smoothly and evenly, light weight, not greasy like the actual oil. A little goes a long way. Once applied, my lips feel like they are fully hydrated. I use it every night. Once I went on week vacation and forgot to take it with me. My lips started to peel and felt like it was so dried up again, even though I used a different store bought shelf brand. When I returned home I applied it again and within 2 days my lips were back to normal. After 6 months of using it practically every night, I still have plenty left to use, I'm only half way done. I think the best part is that I recognize all the ingredients used to make this product, so I know it's safe for me to use. My husband even noticed that my lips are much softer ever since I've used this product. For that reason alone, I will buy it again when this one runs out. I did only rate it 4 stars because the smell (honestly isn't horrible, but maybe a beautiful essential oil smell would be nice) could be improved.

For the past 3 months, I've been struggling with dry peeling lips. My lips have consistently been in some stage of peeling, or raw and uncomfortable. After researching around the internet for what could help, reading reviews and comparing products, I thought this lip balm would be the thing to finally help me. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting some overnight miracle, but it managed to make a bad problem worse. It turns out I don't just have chapped lips, I have developed and am suffering from something called exfoliative cheilitis. (If your lip has been stuck in a cycle of peeling for an extended period of time and you can't figure out why, I recommend looking into this.) So I don't blame the product for not working, because I'm dealing with something that can't be treated normally. But I can say that once I switched to this, the peeling worsened and I started experiencing new problems. I can't pinpoint exactly which ingredient(s) were irritating, but it's important to remember that just because a product is natural doesn't mean it can't cause harm, even butters and oils can aggravate your lip especially when it's in a compromised state. But even despite the condition I'm dealing with and the experience I had, I was searching for something soft that could glide on easily and not tug at the delicate skin on my lips, and this product was the most gentle to apply of all stick balms I tried. That was really the best thing about it though, and I was only able to use it for a few days. I have since switched to 100% Lanolin, not the kind marketed here as lip balm just plain ol nipple cream from the baby aisle in Walmart, and for the first time since this whole ordeal with my lip began, I'm experiencing relief. I haven't peeled in a week, and that's the longest I've made it so far. It's the best thing I've tried, since it's waterproof and creates a barrier like Vaseline but isn't so gross or detrimental. Some people can be sensitive to it though, so I be mindful if you do decide to try it. Also, the Naturals New Zealand Emu Oil Lip Balm is good as well. I maybe prefer it over this one. It lasts longer on the lips when applied, it has less ingredients (which is good when your lips are in a sensitive state) (and emu oil is the first ingredient rather than the third or fourth), it has shea butter vs the cocoa butter in this one (the cocoa butter clogged the little pores around my lips quickly), and it's soft to glide on as well. The only thing better about this one is it's a larger tube, but it also costs more so I don't think it really counts as a perk.

I was suffering with severe dry, bleeding, scaling lips that began to spread around my outer mouth area. I went to a dermatologist who recommended using over the counter hydrocortisone "gel" and was prescribed prednisone for 3 weeks. This did not even touch it! I used several top recommended lip balms (Burt's Bee, O'Keeffe's, pure jojoba oil) for several more weeks and cut out all acidic, salty foods. Frustrated and ready to find another dermatologist... I decided to search for one last product on (after dealing with this embarrassing issue for over 3 months). I came across "EMU Joy Banish Chapped Lips" after reading about the product I was very skeptical but thought.. one more try. When I received the product and applied the first application I felt instant moisture. Day two and three layers of dead skin was loosening and began to roll off ... I wasn't sure if this was a good thing but my lips/mouth felt so much better. By day 9 my lips and around my mouth were healed. I still cant believe this worked!:) I am still using it and will be placing another order.

Back in the Spring I started having an issue with very dry lips. I tried every lip balm, chap stick you can imagine. Next to my chair, I had a basket full of different lip balms. Nothing seemed to help. It got so bad, that one morning I woke up and my lips were swollen, and felt like they were on fire, they were burning so bad. They were red and irritated. I called the dermatologist and they got me in that day. He gave me a prescription for hydrocortisone cream and told me to use aquaphor cream also. They hydrocortisone cream made my lips dryer then they were, so stopped using that after 2 days. The aquapor was ok, but not great, even though I love the stuff. I saw this chap stick as I was looking for lip treatments one day on Amazon. It got good reviews and had the ingredients that were recommended for dry lips in an article I had read. Well, this stuff is amazing. This is all I have been using on my lips for a couple of months now. Have had no problems, my lips are back to normal. I use it a couple of times a day. With other lip balms I was putting them on every hour if not more often. This doesn't really have a scent or a taste. It comes in a good sized tube, so has lasted for a while. I can't imagine being without this stuff now. I don't know what was going on with my lip, but whatever it was, this stuff sure helped cure it.
