These books are not made up of toddler friendly materials but they are not pamphlets as the other reviews described. If you don’t mind the material they are great buy! I use them to read to my baby to introduce variety of vocabularies. These books are in simplified Chinese in case you are wondering. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Useful *by J***E on February 6, 2020* The books are basically pamphlets. They are decent quality paper with a cover that is slightly heavier and fastened together with 2 staples. The original intended audience is probably Chinese speaking children learning to read Pinyin or learning to read characters but they are useful for adults who are studying Chinese as a second language and want extra reading material. They are probably at an intermediate or advanced intermediate level but because every character has Pinyin above it, they can be used at a lower level if you are willing to spend time looking up the characters you don't know. The "Pinyin book" is a set of flash cards for learning Pinyin. The flash cards are card stock and have a hole punched in one corner. It comes with three plastic rings that can be used to bind some or all of the flash cards into a booklet or multiple booklets. The flash cards have Pinyin letters or diphthongs on one side and sample words and sentences on the other side (including Chinese characters.) They would be very useful for someone who knows Pinyin to use in teaching someone else Pinyin but not very useful to use if you are trying to learn it on your own since they don't tell you how to pronounce the letters.
