Much Sound Advice Including that to Own Railroads & Utilities in Early Half of Game
The book is a marvelous assemblage of sound Monopoly advice, much of it developed through computer simulations. The suggestion to own the Railroads and Utilities early in the game as cash cows goes against the commonly accepted wisdom found in other books. Yet it works as rent from those properties steadily build one’s own assets while depleting those of opponents. Then in the endgame when colored sets and houses are needed to bankrupt opponents, I trade those cash cows to those who hated paying rent for them.I first read this book about twenty years ago at my local library, and knew it would always be there for reference. I recently moved to another town, and am glad to now have a copy at home.

It's main strategies are actually against the rules
The books main strategies are actually against the rules of Monopoly, making the book not very useful. It does have statistics on which properties are the most landed on, but any monopoly book will have that. You would be better off buying the "monopoly companion".

a quick and entertaining read
Not only does this book offer hidden advice behind the game of monopoly, it involves stratagies that exist outside of the game as well i.e. reading people, psychology, etc) to improve the odds of winning. Using these fun ideas is a pleasure!
