This is a real circuit kit! the manual is great because it shows the actual symbols for electrical circuitry...not some kiddy representation, GREAT teaching/learning tool. The diagrams can look complicated at first, but it just simply tracing the circuit and attaching the wires (included in the set) as the diagram shows. My 11 year old (avid lego builder which helps with following instructions) LOVED this set! Great educational toy with real world circuit mapping. Very highly recommend!

Got this for my son for Christmas. He loves it. He has done a lot of them already. So far his favorite thing is that he made was the radio. He says after he does everything he wants to experiment seeing if he can combine things. This has got him to want to learn more about this and asked if we can get him more like it. This is very easy to use and lots of fun.

Got this for my granddaughter for her birthday as she is very interested in electronics (helping Dad wire a ghostbusters proton pack). She spent hours doing the in book experiments and then trying things out on her own. Her Dad had a Tandy made kit when he was a kid and this is the closest we can get to it. Great investment.

It is very creative and very nice gift for the boys that who is curious about wires and electrics

I LOVE this as a fun yet educational gift. We bought this for our 9 year old boy's birthday. I took physics in college and this is something I wish I had as a kid HA! It shows the circuit pathways in the instructions and helps with the understanding of closing circuits and resistors and such. He had a blast with the different experiments, but I gave it 4 stars because some of the experiments didn't seem to work (could just be us).

Excellent toy to let your children or even yourself experience circuitry. My children have found themselves forgetting about video games for hours.

Interesting activities for kids

A little difficult for an 8 year old boy but his older brother was able to figure it out. However it kept his interest for much longer than other toys and maybe it will steer him into an electronic career.
